  1. Yes it is. Id say the most common problem of banshees.
  2. If it ran fine before dont start changing jets. I cant understand why ignorant people tell others to do that when they have problems like you have. Jetting doesnt just get off overnight. Especially so much that it causes the bike to not run. You have an electrical problem.
  3. Spend that 1k on the shee and it will rip that Zilla a new one. I had a buddy with one with a built/ported motor and my bike would kill that thing. With less mods than I have now. They are not good bikes.
  4. From the storys Ive heard of 1K tickets Id say not. Maybe in the country but not in rural areas. We ride ours down main roads getting to the riding spots but we haul ass when we do it.
  5. Best place is your place. Get a manual and go at it. You can screw up a couple rebuilds and still be cheaper than paying somebody. If you want to own a Banshee you have to learn to work on it yourself IMO.

  7. Mine burnt up 6 stators before I realized it was the problem. Bought a OEM FW and its run like a top since. It was making slight contact with the stator coils it looked like and causing them to burn up. I dont recommend their stuff. Just my opinion.
  8. Where im from I like to see 300+ mains with those mods. Especially if you pull the airbox snorkel or lid off. Id get rid of that shit anyway. Stay out of the water. Run some pod filters. They protect an engine better than any setup you can put on that stock airbox IMO. That crud gets down in there and sits. They'll even take a little mud and water before they fail. The thing about them is most stuff that hits them falls off. You have to really soak them to have an adverse effect.
  9. If you gear it right you can make any setup work in the trails IMO. As long as your up in the powerband. You might be in first or second the whole way but if thats what it takes.
  10. It looked like it was making slight contact at several points. Thats the only thing that seems logical too. I guess the contact shorted it out and burnt it up. All I know is I went through 6 stators. Decided to change the FW and its run fine since.
  11. Yeah thats what Id like to do. I dont feel like chancing it. Snop you have the program kit? What would it take to get mine right?
  12. Cool heads are much better than the stock head. If any of them would crack it would be the stock head long before the billet head. Ive never heard of either head cracking.
  13. Only thing that'll outrun a Banshee is another Banshee! I had a buddy with a LT500 with motor work and it still wouldnt really run with my bike. It was fast but in a drag Id tear his ass up. He had Duncan I think port it. Fun to ride though. Had alot of TQ.

  15. If I had someone to re-program mine Id use it. I run it on the stock setting and run a timing plate. I lost the info that told me the curves. I dont really trust the guy anymore that said he programmed it either. He said it was custom but for all I know its all the curves it comes with. Anybody know where to find that info? Out the box curves?

  17. I know your bike is setup for as much low end as "Banshee" possible. Did you see much topend loss with 184psi? I made a thread about this a while back but didnt get any decent answers. From my research, 150-175psi seems to be the sweet spot. Just wondering how that 184 runs. I run about 150psi but want to bump it up to 175 or so. I want to see some data or atleast some educated opinion saying its worth the difference.

  19. I wouldnt run 87 even in a stock engine. Im almost sure youve done some damage to that engine if what you said happened. Id atleast take the head off and give her a look. Hope Im wrong. I am all the time.

  21. Anywhere you go to get PC should have a sand blaster. You cant do it properly without one. You can do touch ups though. Paint stores sell a kit that is made for touching up powder coat.
  22. I have one that works fine. I had big problems with about 6 stators. 4 being RS stators and 2 being Moose. Turns out my RS flywheel was causing my stators to burn themselves up. Bought a new OEM FW and a Moose Stator and its ran like a top since. From my experience I DO NOT recommend anything by Ricky Stator. Ive had terrible luck with them. Now alot of people havent so take this as what it is. My experience and opinion.
  23. Dont buy a Shee wanting bottom end power. Buy it because you like high winding serious power that comes on hard. I hate to see someone try and change what the bike was designed to do. I suggest Maxxis razors for tires. I also suggest leaving your gearing stock.
  24. If you want bad ass sound get the DMC 916's. Nothing else Ive heard sounds like them and Ive heard many different sets. They are very unique.
