Gurnzz Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 i wanted to know if a adjustable timing plate and a fly wheel degree key would be a good investment for a stock engine. as far performance is concerned, will this cause overheating, what kind of fuel should i use, octane? any info on this would be a great help. thanks so much! locogato11283 Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 you will notice a gain with advanced timing. the plate it a better route to go. degree keys have been know to shear off causing problems. with advance timing you will need to run a higher octane fuel. a 50/50 mix of pump and 110 should be fine for a stock motor with advance timing. Gurnzz Loco is right about the plate. The keys are cheaper, but you could pay a dear price if it fails.............. Quote
