AJC Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 STOCK FOR STOCK.. 500FT. drag. ( search button isnt working for me, comes up with no results ) theres a little heated argument between my buddies about this.. and there saying the ATC(liquid cooled) will take it. any comments on this? Quote
IrideA250R Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 the ATC. the stock ATC pipe isn't bad at all, where as the stock Banshee pipes suck. The ATC has a huge weight advantage and only has to push 1 front tire. The stock ATC engine is in a higher state of tune than a stock Banshee engine. Quote
AJC Posted March 11, 2008 Author Report Posted March 11, 2008 i was along those lines.. piped banshee vs. piped atc? much of a difference? Quote
dajogejr Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 Semantics... You could get 100 responses, different answers each time. Go out and race him...find out. Do you or your buddies have a trike? If not, stop arguing, it's pointless. If so, then go race...the race pretty much solves it every time. Have two or three witnesses at the start and end of the track to make sure there's no false starts, and a clear cut winner at the end. Or.... Just hit a track with lights and timers....they don't lie. Quote

05Special Posted March 12, 2008 Report Posted March 12, 2008 I have raced 250r's,3 wheelers, tecate 4 and 3 wheelers, I don't know if they should but not one 250 that I raced with my stock bike beat me..maybe the conditions or just the rider.. who knows..The guys who posted previously before me are right. RACE HIM, when in doubt, just race  Quote
05Special Posted March 12, 2008 Report Posted March 12, 2008 I actually have a few videos of all of us racing too, I'll see if I can find them.. Predators, 450's.....I love how people hate on the two stroke... Quote

Predators, 450's.....I love how people hate on the two stroke... Yeah, and one of their biggest arguments is maintenance. They say a 2-stroke is so much higher. I also have a Raptor 700 that is almost at the twenty hour mark on the motor, and needs a valve inspection / adjustment. I lack the specialty tools and knowledge to do it myself, but I just got my wifes car out of the shop so I can't afford to have it done for awhile. Now I'm not complaining about it, it's something that needs to be done. Just saying that both a 2- and 4- stroke have their different points of maintenance. Quote
hyperlite33 Posted March 12, 2008 Report Posted March 12, 2008 I lack the specialty tools and knowledge to do it myself Don't know how different the 700 is from the 660 raptor, but I was suprised how easy the valves were to check/adjust...get a service manual and feeler guage and you can do it for probably under $20  Quote

Maybe I could get by without some of them. I alternate between the Shee and it so I could put it off for a while if needed. Quote
Snopczynski Posted March 12, 2008 Report Posted March 12, 2008 IS it stock gearing and stock tires sizes too, cause a 500ft drag is gonna be about top speed more than anything. Quote
AJC Posted March 13, 2008 Author Report Posted March 13, 2008 there talking about stock machines... everything! i just through out a random amount of footage there. im not the one arguing about it.. i was just curious to see what people on a banshee site would think about it. Quote
Animalman294 Posted March 15, 2008 Report Posted March 15, 2008 I have a 250R ATC and even in my banshee's stock form I don't think that the 250R would take it, but I would be up for trying it out though............... Quote
