  7. I'm telling you bro...you need to write a book called "6 weeks" from everything that has happened to you this last little bit...you would sell millions! I know it doesn't seem like it now, but everything happens for a reason...maybe the good Lord has a plan for you to meet a nurse and she be your "Sugar Momma" Hope your feeling better buddy...your in Erin & I's thoughts and prayers!
  8. Anybody?!? Maybe an easier question...What offsets do wheels generally come in with a 6" wide wheel?
  9. I need to replace a damaged wheel and not sure about the offset I need as it has a positive offset from stock. My 10 x 6 wheel seems to be about 2 1/2" from the inside rim to the inside hub face and 3 1/2" front the outside hub face to the outside of the rim. Would this be a 3.0 + 3.0, or a 2.0 + 4.0 as it's right in the middle?
  10. The problem lies in your pilot circuit...what size pilots do you have in there?
  11. I have a 4mil and know plenty of others with the same setup that aren't running a lockout that have absolutly no problems. If your trying to save some money when you build your 4mil, try it without to see if you really need it, but definetly get the pancake bearing!
  12. Cool thanks guys...I'm a big torque spec guy but locktight and the good old IR Impact looks like the way to go...
  13. Damn that was a quick reply! I have a new impact wrench and I am unsure of the settings that it torques to...do you worry about over-tightening?
  14. Putting my clutch back together and need to know if it would be bad to put the bike in 6th gear and hold it to tighten the inner clutch boss nut to the 66ft lbs? Would that hurt the trans in any way or does anybody have a better way? I have tried a strap wrench and it won't hold it, and don't really reall want to buy a special tool.
  15. I've used my old haulers in the snow and they worked awesome but got chewed up when they hit ice. If it deeper snow, I don't think it would be a problem...and there is nothing like a snow roost to an unexpecting neighbor!
  16. Thanks for the good news I am crossing my fingers that is not the case! Even if it is not grinding gears and going straight to nuetral...will that still hurt the dog ears on the gear? Jeff @ FAST is setting me up with a new shift shaft and eccentric stud, so I will try that first before I tear into the bottom end...but I appreciate the tip on flipping the engine to just get at the bottom end. I have only 3 weekends on it and didn't want to go through the whole teardown so soon.
  17. Cool thanks for the reasurance on the shift star!! As far as the adjustment...I tried to adjust it and it hardly lifts the shift shaft off the pin...not even close to balancing the distances of the shift shaft. I took the eccentric srew out and it doesn't look all that eccentric. Does this eccentric adjuster bolt wear out and need to be replaced or am I missing something on the adustment?
  18. Does my shift star look like I took to much off the peaks to compound the mis-adjustment problem? While I'm in there, I could replace it easily if it looks to radically modified. Does this go out of adjustment, 'cause I got it perfect centered when rebuilding...that's why I was suprized to see it sitting on the pins?
  19. Yeah it definetly would be a last resort and I would try it on a small spot to make sure. I would try the mothers polish first though...That stuff is awesome.
  20. I have a cloudy stain on my ITP's from mag cloride (sp?) that I have tried everything I can think of and it won't go away. Maybe try some 0000 steel wool...I have used that on pipes when I melted boots to them on my road bike and it worked pretty well. Maybe also try some mothers polish? Good luck!
  21. Stained with what...blood, mud, oil?
  22. Since I rebuilt my engine from basically stock to a 4mil, I have noticed a problem when in second gear and pulling up a hill, it pops into nuetral or when I downshift into second, it goes straight into nuetral. It won't happen during any other time but hillshooting under hard load. When I pulled the clutch apart I noticed the top shift shaft was sitting on the shift drum pin. Can anyone tell me if this little adjustment might be what is causing problems? I also ground the shift star myself, can someone tell by looking at it if I took to much of the peaks to cause a "too easy shifting"
  23. :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao: On a serious note, Thanks Jeff for being a major contributor to this site and for helping so many banshee owners (me included) with their bikes!! Hopefully new folks on here will understand that you have a stand up business and these two clowns are trying to throw a wrench in the works for no reason.
