atvfreestylekid
I need a new chain and kinda on a budget since I'm about to start x/c. So, do I realy have to have an o-ring shain? I can get a non o-ring for about 25 bucks.
shee rips
you dont NEED an o ring, but if youre gonna be in mud and water and all that crap i would recommend it. will make it last much longer if all that crap isnt grinding around in it. MSBansheeDrags
i wouldnt trust a $25 chain to hold up...you usually get what you pay for... dbr
jbooker82
It might save you money now to buy that cheap chain but when you figure in the cost of a new set of cases it isnt really cheaper. What are you getting #50 chain from a Tractor Dealer?
rubberneck
I run only in the sand and have not been running o-rings. Seems as if no matter what you buy the sand tears the shit out of them anyway.. Have been running RK non oring and seems to work fine. meanv10
Any of you guys ever run the o ring chains off ebay like this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-Bans...tem170196208256 and is 50 dollars a ripoff for an oring chain? jbooker82
A good chain will run you 80+ dollars. I wouldnt buy a chain if it doesnt say what brand it is.
MILO
definitely don't buy anything that doesn't give a brand name. anyway, you'll go thru 2 non o-ring chains in the time that you would 1 o-ring or x-ring chain. so why not just go for the better of the two? what you need to look at also is the tensile strength. personally i only run the DID x-ring ATV chain. yeah, it's more expensive, but you almost always get what you pay for. Lepew
It doesn't matter if you go with o-ring or not it is the same in the long run if you have your bike awhile. Generally you will wear out three non o-ring chains to a o-ring chain , on the sand too. Non o-ring chains have a higher tensile strength than o-ring chains, look it up. I run o-ring so I don't have to replace chains as often.

DID chains have done well for me and never let me down yet. maybe i'm paying some extra for the name, but it's a name that i know i can trust.
