  1. I'll try to tomorrow if i can get someone to video. I wish I had a gopro or I would have mounted it to the bike and took some footage of the first time I rode it. granted, y'all would have laughed, I was scared as fuck riding it. Now I'm getting the hang of it tho. Hell, I rode it to the gas station Sunday to pick up a six-pack. It was pretty interesting watching everyone looking at me as I got on it and then hauled ass down the road with my beer lol. I even had some guy give me a thumbs up as I was riding off. Was pretty cool. I am about to go up a couple teeth on the front sprocket tho, I'll be cruising along and keep looking for a 7th gear. What sprockets are y'all running?
  2. Dang, sure wasn't wanting to see that $600 price tag. Fucking sucks I'm having to spend all this money on shit to modify my bikes just so I can ride them again. Oh well, comes with the territory I guess.
  3. That sounds pretty interesting. Definitely going to give them a call. It’d be nice to have a smooth ride and still have stiff steering. Thanks.
  4. Never heard ot them before. I’ll have to check em out. I always heard that stabilizers have to be rebuilt or replaced all the time so I never really looked into any of them.
  5. Sorry if I came off sounding like an ass. Work was extremely rough yesterday. Anyways, i see your point. But the stiff steering does help a lot during hard acceleration. Because I have to lean forward and tighten up my back like crazy to keep from pulling back on the left side of the handlebars. Then when I shift, I’m still kinda leaning forward with some pressure pushing forward now. It’s a pain in the ass to say the least. I have a 450r with long travel and PEP shocks and it handles beautifully. But since it’s so easy to steer, the problem I mentioned above is actually worse. Even with the smooth 4-choke powerband and way less power. It’s really hard to explain.
  6. Since i only have one arm and my bike is a ported 4-mill, seems like it’s very reasonable logic...
  7. Idk guys, I might stick with the 450 front end, after riding it a bit. I hate how low it sits, but the steering is super stiff which I think helps keep me from pulling the bars to one side when I accelerate. Idk, I'll have to play on it some more.
  8. Thanks guys. And yeah I thought about some different pipes, but I sure do hate to give up the power. Thinking about trying to trade my 450r for another banshee that I can rebuild stock and just throw a set of T5s on it. If I can find someone to trade that is. But I'd definitely get more joy out of a stock shee than that 450. I forgot how much I missed the sound, smell, and feel that only a banshee can provide.
  9. Well guys, I'm officially a banshee rider again! I finally got everything put back together and in good shape this afternoon. Needless to say, I immediately hopped on it and took it down the back roads a bit. The first ride lasted about 3 min and was terrible tho. It scared the piss out of me. So i slid back up into the driveway furious that I was unable to ride my shee anymore. So I parked it and said many cuss words regarding the bitch that caused the wreck that took my arm. I just went inside, grabbed a budweiser and sat down. Well, after about half way through my beer I said fuck it, I refuse to give up that easily. So I took it back out for round 2. Took it easy for about a mile or so kinda playing with the throttle in higher gears trying to get used to the powerband. after a few minutes it started feeling better to me. Before I knew it I was wrapping it out in 6th and grinning like crazy. It's definitely going to take some getting used to, but I think I'll ok. Not gonna lie guys, after spending the last 6 years thinking I'd never get to ride it again, I had tears of joy when I hopped off and looked back at it. 🍻
  10. Sorry for the late reply guys but thanks for the info. I’m pretty sure i’m set on the alba’s. And I always like going through site sponsors. How well do those fox floats hold up over time? They’re an air shock right? Never ran anything like that. Anyone still run marvin shaws these days? I remember they were pretty popular back in the day. But i do remember the floats were getting pretty popular.
  11. What's a good budget arm and shock combo to go with these days? I've been out of the banshee scene for a while and don't know what all new stuff is available these days. Back in my day, roll design and elkas was the best of the best and stay away from full flight, asr, etc. Anyways, I'm not an aggressive rider anymore, I just pretty much like to haul ass across fields and such. So no jumping and stuff. I mainly just want to get this shitty yfz front end off of my shee. It's stiff as fuck, handles like shit, and sits too low as everyone on here already knows. I did this bs mod over 10 years ago and wish i never did. I'd go back stock if I could find my old parts.
  12. I got a set of stock carbs. Never ran em tho. Cable, tors, everything I think.
  13. It’s all good, i’ll Make it. Been doing decent for the past 5 years I guess. But I am curious as to people’s experience with steering stabilizers. I feel that it will at least give me peace of mind when hauling ass knowing that if i hit one little rough spot that it’s not gonna toss my ass. And might help me relax my muscles a bit in the rougher stuff knowing i have assistance in the steering. I can’t tell you how many times i’ve been riding through the woods an a tree root or rock has almost ripped the handlebars out of my hand. Even just at cruising speeds.
  14. Yeah but they’re still higher than pussy on a ferris wheel. Since I didn’t have insurance when the accident happened( motorcycle wreck because someone turned in front of me and i hit em at 60+ lol), i was out of luck. Could have had a government assistance for one If i would benefit from it for everyday needs. But since i have no control over the half of arm i have left, it would just be “cosmetic” since i cant control one with movement. Idk. It’s a messed up deal man. But i’ll make it 👍. I’m gonna get one eventually tho, plan to have it airbrushed with flames and shit. It’ll be sweet. If I did that, How would I afford banshee parts? 😂.
  15. Speaking of that, anbody on here running any kind of steering stabilizer? I think that would help me out tremendously. Especially if it put some resistance on the bars.
  16. Thanks man. I still haven’t got to ride it because I need a throttle cable. But it’s coming soon. As long as I can handle the powerband from a 4-mill with an aggressive play port from Jeff, i should be good. I can ride my 450r with zero problems working the throttle and clutch. But we’ll see lol. If i could afford a prosthetic, I know i’d be good, that way when the power sets me back, it’ll be even pull on the bars. The main problem I have now is that when I accelerate, i have to fight it to keep from pullin on just the left side. It’s very uncomfortable and a little rough on the spine lol.
  17. Yeah it’s a temp guage. I can’t remember where i got it, but it’s never worked since the day I installed it lol.
  18. Well, I’m getting closer lol. I just need my throttle cable to come in. https://youtu.be/d0G8k0lBjD0
  19. Can mine be scanned somewhere and you copy it or something?
  20. That would be awesome if there is people on here with the hookup for mods for folks with disabilities. I've come to realize from this post that there is way more people out there that need mods to their bikes than just me. I think we need a sticky dedicated to mods for disabled riders. It would help so many people on here get back out and riding. I'll take one of my throttles to somewhere and have it scanned for a member in a heartbeat if someone on here can duplicate it for them. I remember laying in the hospital bed and telling my mom that my fun is over and that i'm going to sell my toys. Well over 5 years later, i'm still riding my quads because I found this throttle assembly that I have. It took me over 2 years to find it. So the entire 2+ years I had give up on ever riding again. I'd love for people to easily be able to find these mods rather than take years to find a solution to getting back on the seat and burning some oil. Here's a pic of me drifting around on my scrambler after i said i'd never be able to ride again.
  21. Got her back home, cleaned up, and ready to get started. I put fresh gas in it and she started on the third kick. Running a little rough, but still ran and idled. Kinda gave me a half chub lol. But after sitting all these years, the clutch is stuck. Won’t disengage. I did’nt really wanna have to pull it apart but oh well.
  22. No problem. Can’t leave a fellow banshee rider hanging. I’ll pm you with any details i get.
