vwyamaha Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 I just wanted to know what the members of BansheeHQ wore on their hands during the winter months. The other day I took my yz250 out for a ride and after 15 minutes I could barely pull the clutch in, so let me see what you guys favor as I am now in the market for a new set of warm gloves. Quote
badassbanshee479 Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 gortex snowmobile gloves! I am thinkin about adding a set of hand guards for the winter also. I think if ya blocked the wind off your hands you could wear riding gloves Quote
TurboBanshee420 Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 I have a nice pair of HJC's that I use for snowmobiling and quads (when there isn't more than a few inches)..... They work great and have wrist cuffs w/sinch to keep the powder out. I've been out for hours at below 0* and I could still "pull the clutch in" After a while I realized how nice handgaurds are and got a set. (acerbis rally pro) Not only for the cold but to keep my fingers from being broken when you...say...slide into a tree sideways going up a wet grassy hill and turn your pinky into mush. yup now I have a worthless finger that doesn't really move. Been saved a few times since too! Quote
rubberneck Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 I wear the ARC backcountry foul weather gloves. I used them last weekend, and in 45 degree weather they were uncomfortably warm. My hands were sweating. So I would say they would work well in colder weather. So far I have liked all the ARC gear I got from rockymountain. Quote
locogato11283 Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 i have a pair of carhart insulated gloves. they are tight. Quote
jbooker82 Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 I got a pair of Troy Lee EXP Cold Weather gloves. TLD Gloves LINK Quote
TurboBanshee420 Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 man those gloves would be ok for 40*-50* but that's about it. I had a set of fox neoprene cold weather gloves. I'd have been better with a set f $3 wal-mart jobbies. It's probably a good idea to get an idea of what temps you'd be riding in before you freeze your ass off. Simple gloves won't cut it of 32* riding. You need snowmobile gloves, unless your doing some serious shit that makes you break a sweat. I went up to tughill, NY snowmobiling this past weekend and it was about 10*.... I was sweating my ass off because of the 4-5 foot mogels. If it was smooth and 10 million people weren't there it would have been cold from the 50-95 mph riding. even with the grip heaters! But I got a workout instead... so I might have been good with some summer gloves. depends on your riding cond. and the temp. I guess..... Quote
zach45 Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 i never wear any... i hate gloves.. Quote
. Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 they make heated gloves that you put a battery in. When its cold, and slush is hitting the gloves, it makes for some nasty conditions. I've had my gloves so frozen that I literally couldnt take my hands off the handlebars. I could use 2 fingers 2 pull in my clutch, one for my brake, and my thumb for my throttle, everything else was frozen solid. My buddy had to pry my hands off because I couldnt budge them. That was after a full gas tank of road riding in the snow though, and it was like 6 degrees out Quote
dajogejr Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 Get what's called a gauntlet for your hands. yes...they look goofy. But they shield you from wind and ice/snow, etc. You can wear any kind of glove you want under them, or no gloves at all... They slide over your hands, they're made for snowmobiles, but...I promise, no glove will keep your hands as dry and warm as these. Come in all different styles and types... I know, they look goofy, but not as goofy as you going off into a ditch because you can't feel your hands/fingers.... http://www.heeters.com/snbgauntlets.shtml Quote
theshee Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 Get a set of the Tusk deals that go over the handle bars from RMATV, they are like $15 bucks. I ride my Wolverine almost everyday at work in the winter, and with the Tusk handle bar cover deals, and some regular riding gloves I ride in single digit temps all the time 100% comfortable. Quote
Washburn Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 I have a pair of MSR Gloves and they arent shit compared to a pair or Under Armor reciever gloves. Super tacky, good for protection from the cold. Quote
