BIG B Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 I'm looking for 70 HP. Here is what I have so far: Stock Motor Rebuilt top end w/Wiesco forged pistons Toomey T-6 V-force Reeds Air box Removed w/dual K & N's Vitos Hemi Cool Head 22cc domes I have guy C & M Custom Banshee's, Seattle WA (anyone ever heard of them?) who will be doing this upcoming work: Full race port Install new CPI Inframe Drag Pipes 18cc Domes Advance Timing to 5 degrees Tuning Should expect 70HP out of this upgrade? Should I get my crank welded? I'd like to upgrade to a 4mil at some point so I really dont want to split my case until then. Quote
badassbanshee479 Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 I would hope with a full race port your builder could make 70hp. why are you having him put the pipes on and all that? Quote

You will need to true and weld your crank.Sell it and buy a 4mill.I sold mine for 150. Quote
RZBansheeMan Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 If your gonna go with a 4 mil crank, do so before the porting. Once ported for a stock stroke crank, your cylinders might not be able to be ported for the 4 mil, and yes the porting is significantly different. Quote

I like the way the CPI's look and Ive heard they will out perform the Toomey's with any port work. Everyone that i have spoken with has told me that the T-6 pipes are only good for stock motors. I am guessing some kind of a drag port or dune port since you're putting CPIs on there. If you're going to do all that, you might as well drop in a 4mill. It's not really that hard to do. And you might wanna add some bigger carbs and a new clutch to your goodie list. Quote

I think he was asking why youre not paying someone to do it instead of putting the simple stuff on yourself. Quote

BIG B Posted January 25, 2008 Author Report Posted January 25, 2008 sorry,i meant why you "are" paying someone else. oops Why Not!! The guy is selling full chrome CPI's (for $545.00) with the install and jetting for no extra cost!!! Quote
BansheeRider71 Posted January 26, 2008 Report Posted January 26, 2008 If your gonna keep your stock crank an since your are getting it ported you definitely need to have it trued an welded. I though to have the crank trued an welded you had to split the cases to get the crank out, if that is the case you might as well spend the extra $$$$$ to get a 4Mil an have the cylinders ported for that, idk its what ever your building its all your choice when it comes down to it. chevrolet banshee Posted January 26, 2008 Report Posted January 26, 2008 Ya dude you might as well go 4mil crank and domes cut to fit. Chevshee Quote
