Since fenders are for deflecting debris, I figured I'd be getting dirt and sand in my face if I cut the fronts, but not sure about the back fenders since my rear tires are spining fast.

What can you guys tell me about having cut fenders for riding trails, desert and sand?

THX in advance.

if you look at the placment of the stock fenders they arent going to deflect much, they sit to high.

i cut my fronts and rears and have 0 problems with debris. now i also ride only n sand. not sure how it would pan out in mud/water but id assume the same.

I figured sand would be the best since I have smoothies up front. I'm more worried about hard turns in dirt with knobbies.

i ride trails and didnt think it would pose a problem to cut my front fenders but boy was i wrong. i ride alot of wet trails in the fall winter and spring and i would get really dirty because they were cut. i adv. bought some new ones. i wouldnt do it if you ride trails. just my .02 cents

crap is certainley "drawnback" to your face.

if you cut the rears up a bit the backs of your legs and heels get soacked. this in turn soacks up to your balls and eventually asscrack.

hit, wipe goggles, repeat.

One of the great things about this site, is that there is a wealth of information on it. Not trying to be a douche, but there is a search button for a reason. I love that there are new members on here, that take an interest in the things that keep most of us from getting any "real" work done at work or school. I know thats how it is for me. I should be writing an english paper right now, but i would rather be talking about bikes.

The fenders are ugly, and pretty much functionless... I say chop them. But it would be cool if you did something different with them. Since most people just hack them down to the flat part where they bolt up. Maybe leave them a little longer and make them into a diff shape. Something to make your bike a little different from everyone elses. And if you dont like what you created, just chop them all the way off.

Post pics when your done

everyboby has they're own oppinion on this issue! but the fenders do help! not alot tho,, after you hit a nice size mud hole get off and look under your fenders just to see what they actually do!, and remember all thats under your fenders would have been on you! lol and in my own opinion i like the stock look,, seems like every Shee you see these days have cut fenders,, the only reason i would cut mine is if i wrecked it and snapped one off, then it would be time to cut!! lol this is just my theory tho

I agree, do something different. I don't remember where I saw them, but someone cut the top flat part off of the front fenders leaving some "wings" but they cut flames into the wings! Does any of that make sense? Heres mine, I pointed where the flames were.

I've seen cut before, only liked one of them.. The others didn't look like flames.. I look for pics.. KD Cycles has a really nice flame cut on the rears, not sure if they did the fronts.
