shee4speed Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 Well apparently you cannot run the shearers inframes with an airbox. So tomorrow I will be picking up clamp on K&N's. Is there anything else I need like spacers? Quote
theshee Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 Yup, no airbox with shearers. What size carbs are you running? Just get ready for war getting everything to fit right. Shearers fit like shit. Quote
shee4speed Posted October 9, 2007 Author Report Posted October 9, 2007 stock carbs.they seem to fit okay but no open box no more. Quote
375hp banshees Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 kinda defeats the purpose but, they do make stingers that will work if you want to keep the box... get w/ 06BaNsHeE he had some? or maybe they were cpi's  Quote
06BaNsHeE Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 I have Shearers inframes that have custom silencers so you can run an airbox. With lid or without.PM me if your interested.Im going to OOF so I dont need them Quote
bigdaddy69 Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 (edited) be prepared to go to the nut and bolt store lookin for some washers and a longer bolt. I bought theshee's shearers a long time ago and still cant get the left side pipe to clear the head, one ride it will clear and the next ride it will ping against the head I probally have atleast 10 washers for spacers. shee4speed Posted October 9, 2007 Author Report Posted October 9, 2007 No big deal, I was going to switch to clamp ons anyway for easier jetting.Do I need spacers?: Quote
Bansh-eman Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 is there any reason your running stock carbs and shearers? kinda dosent make sence. you got a big wide open drag pipe with a small carb. and your trying to run a air box? the two dont match up. to get the max power out of your motor your carbs/ intake, porting, and exhaust all ned to work together. in your case yours is doing the opposite. shee4speed Posted October 9, 2007 Author Report Posted October 9, 2007 I was running an open box with stock carbs. No one told me that I needed bigger carbs.Damnit! So with dune port, shearers, clampons, will it be okay? Quote

I had two different sets and they both made me shim out like that. I think the set I sold you were worse then the second set I had though. I had about an inch and a half spacer to clear my cub cylinder with the pipes I sold you. Quote
bigdaddy69 Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 I gave up on it for awhile because like I said i would have it clear for one ride and the next ride it would hit the head so finilly I said screw it and havnt touched it, its time to do something about it though its about to put a hole in the pipes. I have considered seeling them and going with CPI's also. Quote
theshee Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 Yeah, I finally just shimmed the hell out of them so they would clear the head. Quote

So with dune port, shearers, clampons, will it be okay? think of it like a water hose. your intake/carbs is the nob on the wall, your porting is your hose, and your exhaust is the opening of the hose. if any of those three parts are more restrictive then the others then your going to lose power. they all need to work together to get the max power. yes you "can" run stock carbs but your loosing power. shee4speed Posted October 9, 2007 Author Report Posted October 9, 2007 I understand. I will get bigger carbs soon then. I just thought that I wans't to extreme to need bigger carbs yet. What size shall I get? Quote
