Kickstarter Rattle

hey guys whats up? new to the forums here. I just picked myself up an 04 limeted editon black. kid barely rode it and i got it for 3000. anyway, my kickstarter rattles like a son of a gun, just wondering if anyone else had/fixed this problem?

iff you have the money billet kickstarter or for racing they tie ruber bands around them and secure them to the frame you have to get it nice and tight tho.

as simple as it is to tie a rubber band-i know it will fix my problem..... ingenuity is overlooked sometimes haha.

to be honest, if you get the rebuilt kit, which is cheap...it'll stay rattle free for a year or so.

Just make sure you get the spring, ball and bolt to hold it together...

Grease it good, too.

Otherwise, no permanent fix other than a billet kick starter or duct tape and super glue...LOL..

your best fix is free , take the kicker off theres a little ball ...hold that, take out the spring take 2 pairs of pliers and pull the spring a little till its longer than before and put it back in. and put the ball on with grease and hold it in place slide the kicker back on and it will feel like new again

I've done that, even bought a tad bit longer and stiffer spring.

The rebuild kit is the way to go...it will last longer!

I agree with DAJO. Simple and it will take away that annoying rattel. The rebuild kit from Modquad is only like 7-10 dollars plus shipping so you might want to look into their fender/stator/clutch/water pump allen head bolt kits for a cleaner look and no more stripped screw heads a Case saver a billit impeller and their gas caps are the sweetest looking out there IMO.

Dave is right... get the rebuild kit. They are like 10 bucks from cascade, and they will last quite a while.

The only true fix is the "Holyman kicker fix" It will never rattle again.Just do a search under the repairs and mod forums you will find it.I have done a couple of the holyman kicker mods and all have been rattle free ever since....

I did the rebuild kit and it still rattled. I wraped the crap out of the kickstarter base with Teflon Tape to make it a tight fit.. That stopped the rattle. It still rattles but you can't hear it.
