blue devil quad Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 there is a special mod to clutch rod and ball so that they dont weld together does anyone know the name of it or how its done. thanks in advance Quote
jbooker82 Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 All you do is swap the parts out. Nothing specail. I would get one from Cascade Innovations. There's have 2 flat spots on the out side up by the adjustment nut. That allows you to hold the pice while adjusting the clutch. Others I have herd about have the flat spot on the other side so you have to set the adjustment, take the clutch back appart to thighten it down. Then re assemble the clutch. Cascade Pancake Mod LINK Quote

Bansh-eman Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 (edited) yes its worth getting. if you ever plan on doing a lockup its a must. to install it you have to drain the fluids and pull your clutch cover off. remove the cluth and install it do your self a favor and buy a clymers manual. they will help you tackle any job on the bike step by step Edited September 4, 2007 by Bansh-eman Quote
theshee Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 Its easy to install and well worth the $$. If you have or are getting a lock-up clutch, a pancake bearing should be added at the same time. Quote
NYUK Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 even if you don`t run a lock up this is cheap insurance for not welding the ball to the rod.if you get one good and welded, and you are not handy with splitting the cases, then you are in for a big ole mess. Quote

shee rips Posted September 5, 2007 Report Posted September 5, 2007 not even sure what everyone is talking about here, but it sounds like something i dont realllllly want to find out for myself, so how would a person go about welding the ball to the rod? Quote
