greencoloredride
I went riding this last weekend and since I recently got a GPS I figured Id see what my bike could do. Due to me being about 240lbs and everyone saying w/ just bolt-ons Id only see about 75mph I figured thats about what Id get. Well I made one run and hit 78 then ran out of road so I started further back and got 83.??mph and it was still slowly accelerating but I had no more road to use. Is this normal for a stock geared bike w/ parts like mine. Im really impressed w/ how my bike runs everytime I ride it but 85 or more mph really impresses me. Id like to hear everyones imput and experiences.
RZBansheeMan
My old 92 was all stock with a drop in K&N filter would hit very high 70's, maybe 78 or 79 mph. At that time I weighed maybe 150 lbs. Sounds like yours is running pretty well.
NYUK
sounds about right, 5 to 10 mph margin of error.
SoCalinIt
Sounds about right man! Running good huh?!?! You could pull more if geared differently with some larger tires...
greencoloredride
Im thinking Im gonna go to a 15/41 setup when my chain needs to be replaced. From what Ive read, thats the most popular. Funny thing is, I used my same GPS to check my friends piped 450R and only got 72.8 out of it. He didnt want to believe it. NYUK
THE ONLY REAL WAY TO FIND OUT WHAT YOUR REAL MPH IS TO, take your quad to atco on a thurs night. street night. go early about 4 30 pm. do a couple quarter mile runs. it s like 13 bucks to run all night.i see you are in willow grove so it`s doable.there will be your top speed in ink on the timeslip. you need boots leather gloves a tailight and tether.it is also alotta fun. yes you can run dirt tires. MarineNYC
I had my friend drive next to me in his truck and clock me. Last thing I heard him say is 80 then I pulled away from him like he was standing still. I was amazed.
RagunCajun
My shee did 72mph in 1/8th asphalt at the track with 19's on stop gearing and bolt ons. My gps marked the same thing. With my current 15/41 i went 78.9mph on my field road that's not smooth. I'm sure i can break 80. I really dont care for top speed. I care about how fast i get there or alteast how fast i can get topped out in 5th. I'm ported with supporting mods though. I couldnt pull 15/41 well w/o the all the extra power. Snopczynski
The most mph we clocked on the sand on a banshee was 80mph with the radar gun. That was on a 4mm stroker. It all has to do with gearing, tire size, etc.....
SoCalinIt
I wouldn't run mine that long to see what the top speed would be. These cubs run out of fuel pretty quick. I'd need bigger bowls and a fuel pump. It would suck if I ran my bike out of fuel at WOT... KAAA BOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!

racer
5 to 10 mph margin of error. that's pretty big. Mine reads dead even with my speedo in my truck, anywhere between 5 and 98.2 where it cut out. now walking with it is another story........ 4stroker
i had a tacho on my shee when dialling in the RZ motor and it pulled 10,300rpm in 6th with 16/42 gearing and 22inch razrs, which according to the banshee gearing calculator is 102mph... that was with 170 main jets though which were way lean i richened it right up to 210s and it only pulled 10,000rpm, which is still about 99mph i had a couple drags against a buddies '07 yfz450, which is piped, ported, cammed and vortexed, and we were dead even while i was struggling to keep the front down for the 1st 3 gears then i got my act together and it ran away from him like he had put the brakes on! i also had a race with a proven 12 second street car, and he didnt catch me till i was in 6th. in the process of buying some asphalt tyres then once the bansh is tuned myself and a group of buddies are gonna take our shees to the quarter mile! this was all on bitumen by the way
