Unless you are running on some really short or tight trails and MX, I would not run them. They were ok but never gave me enough of a pull through the gears? I was geared 17/40 and it ran ok, but would hit stumps and bottom out alot since it was much lower to the ground. I put on 20's and love them. When I get back to a MX track, I may put the 18's back on..... But for all around riding, 20's work best for me. Quote
flattrakker Posted August 5, 2007 Author Report Posted August 5, 2007 all i ride is flat, ice racing, general riding on the ice and generally flat trails. Quote

I ran 15 - 39 with 18's turf tamers for years and loved it. I would always pick my races. I never ran any top end with it. But for short drags, it suprised alot of bikes. I love the look of an 18!!! zach45 Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 18 are good fun on my old blaster... but with the power of the shees you need 20 for all around riding.. i have 20's for all around... soon to pick up 22 for mud snow .. and got a 21" pair of sand tires comming. Quote
locogato11283 Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 18's are too small for a banshee. stick with 20's and the proper gearing and youll be a lot happier.. Quote
2Smoker Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 Listen to me and pay no attention to the haters, 19" MXR6 fronts and 18 holeshot MXR6's on the back with 8" rims and 17/41 gearing KICKS ASS. I ride with cheetahs with my ported and pumped up 350 and it hauls my ass up hills like you would not believe, and very stable. Your's is stock so I would go with a 16/41 but no lower you lose alot of top with 18's but I love them and I have actually put them on and ride with them unlike most people who will tell you not to get 18's but have never tried them. just my .02 Quote

shee rips Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 I have 22's front and back. I like thew extra ground clearance. For reference I am running 15/41 gearing Quote
zach45 Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 18 you will spin them all day..... unless you HARDCORE INTO MX...go with 20's. Quote
flattrakker Posted August 7, 2007 Author Report Posted August 7, 2007 what is stock gearing, i have 22's on it now, i just think they are obnoxious. if i run 20's will i have to change the stock gearing? Quote
Hilarious Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 what is stock gearing, i have 22's on it now, i just think they are obnoxious. if i run 20's will i have to change the stock gearing? Stock gearing, i think is 14/40. Banshees came stock with 20's in the rear. I had some 18" fast trekkers on my shee at one time and they performed well. They are too small for trail riding. Not enough clearance. They sure make good play tires tho. If you do decide on an 18" tire, I would strongly suggest going with an 8" wheel. Quote

If your still looking into the 18's, let me know as I have some Kenda Knarleys on 8" Douglas Red wheels that I could sell you! Quote
