flipcarre Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 well, finally saved up enough money to get some new pipes for my banshee. I got DMC 916's on order and they're comming in next thursday. As of now i have a stock air filter, and stock pipes, when i get my 916's im still going to have a stock air filter. I'm at 795 ft asl. So, what jets should i get for stock air filter and what jets should i get for a K&N. Also i hope to get some pics up soon of my pipes. Thanks, Eric. Quote
shee4speed Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 I'm going to say 280 for stock filter and pipes.Probobly 310 for K&N and pipes.Go from there and plug chop. Quote
locogato11283 Posted July 1, 2007 Report Posted July 1, 2007 id say about 280 just pipes and 300 with air filter for starting points.. youll need to raise the pilot to 27.5 also. Quote
flipcarre Posted July 1, 2007 Author Report Posted July 1, 2007 Thanks guys, i think i'll try the 280's. I'll do a plug chop too and see what happens. If it's good jetting theres a tan line right (on the plug chop)? Quote
shee4speed Posted July 3, 2007 Report Posted July 3, 2007 How's the plugs look? Still have compression? Quote
flipcarre Posted August 15, 2007 Author Report Posted August 15, 2007 (edited) Hey guys, i got my pipes in last night and i tore out the old ones put the pipes on and rejeted. Right now im sitting at 791 ft, and riding at around 70 degrees (20 C.) I put the 280's in and the air screw 2 1/2 turns out. But it feels like it lacking power. Do you guys suggest any other jet sizes? I need answers quick becuase im suppose to go riding tonight. And BTW ill have picks up tonight. Thanks, Eric. I also have the needle on the middle clip Edited August 15, 2007 by Fischer Quote
flipcarre Posted August 16, 2007 Author Report Posted August 16, 2007 Well i changed my air screw to 1 1/2 turns out. And i still have my needle on the middle clip. I took a ride and came back and noticed that where the headers meet the exhaust ports, it's turning like a tan colour. Is this good or bad? Quote
Jayy Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 I am running the same set up on my new DMC aliens, so we have the same pipes, different silencer(s). I have the same jetting. 280 mains, stock needle center clip, and stock pilot with 1 1/2 out on the air screws. I also have the airbox lid on with 3 one inch holes in the back of the lid and Uni 1 inch foam snap in breather vents in it. My pipes are turning the same golden/brownish color at the exhaust ports also after about 10 hours on it with these pipes. I am curious what others will say about this as well. I also need to try 27.5 pilots to see if it helps any. DMC suggests 30 pilots with the same setup we both have, but that seems way too big to me. Quote
350BANSHEE350 Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 i would say 280 and 2 turns and middle clip too check your plugs atleast and make sure they are coco tan colored did you put new plugs in when you got pipes? you should get new plugs and do a plug chop for sure oh and you got my fav exhaust lets see some pics i want to see that silencer man i love it Quote
