anybody have a good way to get a rounded wheel nut off? i was trying to take my haulers off and put some knobbies on so i could do some test runs and one of the wheel nuts on the back is rounded

Run to sears with a good nut and get a rounded nut removal socket. They make all sorts of stuff, you just gotta run down to the auto parts store and sears and take a look.

just grab a hammer and a chisel its free and works well BTW im a heavy diesel mechanic so i have dealt with my fair share of stubborn nuts and bolts.

these things are the shit, i spent about 2 hr's driling out my lug nuts because someone i told they could borrow my paddles stripped the hell out of them. with these it would have taken me about 10 minuits... i got both sets from k-mart and at 20 bucks each they have been one of the best investments i have made around the shop in quite a little while...

Yes..but, correct me if I'm wrong. That kit...the smallest it goes is 3/4". Wheel nuts are either 13mm (1/2) or 14mm (9/16)

Will that kit work with a smaller AND rounded off nut??

Those are it, except I have a whole set of Matco ones. $$$$$$$

There should be a rail of big ones, then another rail of smaller sized ones.

you could always try a nut-splitter too. A tool that goes around the nut and you tighten down a bolt on the side that runs a chisel-like edge into the nut until it splits, just be careful not to go too far and end up messing up the studs. I'd try the nut removal sockets they said first, but if you don't have access to em, almost any auto parts store has a nut splitter/breaker.

just cut the whole wheels off. ummm, maybe try using a little bit smaller socket..try a 9/16 and pound it on.. or maybe even a 13mm..

agreed. the oxy torch right where the splines shoulder up.

i guess it just depends on how small you wanna go. this is the craftsman set i got and the smallest size starts at the size of a pencil eraser...

those things kick ass! you know those allen head bolts for your rotor that are completley round head on the outside? i broke an allen socket wrench, then of course the allen head bolt stripped out , but it latched on to that thing and pulled it right out. i have the same set in my box, and bought a set for my dad also. it's a must have for any tool box.

I have that same set right there....it works wonders....especially with this shitty ass yamaha metal.

you could always just replace your hub and call it a day.
