5150banshee Posted June 11, 2007 Report Posted June 11, 2007 there is a tool at home depot that i use for striped nuts it looks like a big socket, you just put it on and back it off works great. Quote
Snopczynski Posted June 11, 2007 Report Posted June 11, 2007 Run to sears with a good nut and get a rounded nut removal socket. They make all sorts of stuff, you just gotta run down to the auto parts store and sears and take a look. Quote

Yes..but, correct me if I'm wrong. That kit...the smallest it goes is 3/4". Wheel nuts are either 13mm (1/2) or 14mm (9/16) Will that kit work with a smaller AND rounded off nut?? Quote

Those are it, except I have a whole set of Matco ones. $$$$$$$ There should be a rail of big ones, then another rail of smaller sized ones. Edited June 13, 2007 by Snopczynski Quote
locogato11283 Posted June 13, 2007 Report Posted June 13, 2007 just cut the whole wheels off. ummm, maybe try using a little bit smaller socket..try a 9/16 and pound it on.. or maybe even a 13mm.. Quote
Fastrat Posted June 13, 2007 Report Posted June 13, 2007 you could always try a nut-splitter too. A tool that goes around the nut and you tighten down a bolt on the side that runs a chisel-like edge into the nut until it splits, just be careful not to go too far and end up messing up the studs. I'd try the nut removal sockets they said first, but if you don't have access to em, almost any auto parts store has a nut splitter/breaker. Quote

MILO Posted June 15, 2007 Report Posted June 15, 2007 i guess it just depends on how small you wanna go. this is the craftsman set i got and the smallest size starts at the size of a pencil eraser... those things kick ass! you know those allen head bolts for your rotor that are completley round head on the outside? i broke an allen socket wrench, then of course the allen head bolt stripped out , but it latched on to that thing and pulled it right out. i have the same set in my box, and bought a set for my dad also. it's a must have for any tool box. . Posted June 15, 2007 Report Posted June 15, 2007 I have that same set right there....it works wonders....especially with this shitty ass yamaha metal. you could always just replace your hub and call it a day. Quote
