chappy Posted June 4, 2007 Report Posted June 4, 2007 My manual for my 03 banshee says 10w30 so I have been running 10w30 golden spectro clutch saver oil in it but a couple other people run straight 80w gear oil in there banshees so am I right by running the 10w30 or do I need to bump up to 80w?Thanks in advance Quote

jbooker82 Posted June 4, 2007 Report Posted June 4, 2007 Bel Ray Gear Saver 80 weight here. The 2 stroke transmission fluid that says 80 weight isnt thick like you probably thinking. Get you 2 quarts of what ever type of 2 stroke transmission oil. Shake one of them and then shake a quart of 80w-90 gear oil that is made for automobiel rear differentaials. There is a deffinat difference. Quote

Older automatic transmission are very similair to the Banshee transmissions with respect to gear and clutch lubrication. I know using ATF sounds like the redneck thing to do, but it makes sense. Whatever you do, do not use a climbing gear oil in yout Banshee transmission. Quote
