highroller355 Posted April 27, 2007 Report Posted April 27, 2007 whats better? whats lighter or easier to spin? looking for something thats not going to slow me down to much .rite now i have 10 inch ,thinking of selling and putting 9 inch rims on douglas or itp or sometthing which one should i go with? they are for concrette or black top so doesnt matter how soft Quote
CadillacBanshee Posted April 27, 2007 Report Posted April 27, 2007 Go with a 8 inch if you want a lighter RIM, but its still gonna depend on what the total combination weight is. You can get some10inch douglas .125 blue labels that are light as hell and some light holeshots. Quote
highroller355 Posted April 27, 2007 Author Report Posted April 27, 2007 im going with duro scorchers or top fighters 20 inch or 21 inch tall but rim i wasnt sure whats going to be lighter a taller or shorter side wall Quote
Screaming Yellow Zonker Posted April 27, 2007 Report Posted April 27, 2007 one other thing is the 9 inch will give you more flex in the tire sidewall and better for woods. 10 inch stiffer sidewall good for MX. I am going with the 10 inch on mine but the rear tires without rims weigh 45 pounds. Quote
crazybluerider Posted April 27, 2007 Report Posted April 27, 2007 45 Pounds holy crap. My haulers weigh 22 pounds on rims for the pair. I think it is better to have a smaller rim and a little more side wall as far as tire weight goes. Also it looks like your are racing on pavement I think some sidewall flex would help hook up. Quote
5150banshee Posted April 27, 2007 Report Posted April 27, 2007 i switched to an 8 from a 10 and my motor like it alot more it dosnt winde out as fast. and the 8 are hella light with my extreme haulers Quote

locogato11283 Posted April 28, 2007 Report Posted April 28, 2007 more tire selection if you run 9" on the back.. i always run 10" on the front.. Quote
