LtDan Posted March 22, 2007 Report Posted March 22, 2007 Ive seen a few different boost bottles, and its a dirt cheap mod- Im the ugly duckling of the group because I roll with a bunch of 4 strokes! I have a BONE stock '03 and we do hill climbs alot. The bottle claims to add low end power which would be very usefull to me. Question: is this a good mod for someone who still wants stock reliablity AND what is the payoff for this mod?? There is almost always a give and take. Im still a Super-Rookie, all the posts have been insiteful. Quote

bansheeyfz Posted March 22, 2007 Report Posted March 22, 2007 welcome to the HQ 1st off. If you try and search the Word "boost bottle" you'll relize very quickly to if its mod and if it really adds low end power. Dont waste your money on one. Save for something like and pro flow kit. OR Some a timing plate. And if you really want some low end power get a Cool head and bump the compression up. Quote
chevy7398 Posted March 22, 2007 Report Posted March 22, 2007 you would be a bit faster cause your wallet would be lighter, every little bit counts Quote
mpbanshee Posted March 22, 2007 Report Posted March 22, 2007 For the same price as a boost bottle, you could have .030" shaved off of your stock cylinder head, and get 100 times the performance gains. Especially in the low end, like you want. Quote

Screaming Yellow Zonker Posted March 22, 2007 Report Posted March 22, 2007 You can start off by removing all the TORS off your bike. A timing plate is a good way to start or you could just get a degree key to start off. More compression is going to give you quicker revs. Pipes and a jet kit will help you out all around. You can go deeper like a good port job or a stroker but you probably want small mods right now. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted March 22, 2007 Report Posted March 22, 2007 id stay away from the keys ... just spend a few more bucks and get the plate... its a huge pain to deal with a key casue you have to remove your flywheel any time you make changes... Quote
