alano64 Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 I was looking at buying a stock 95 banshee for $1500 in good shape. I just ran into an old friend that has an 02 Raptor he wants $2000 for in good shape with aftermarket exhaust. Any advice you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated. Quote

FireHead Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 I'd jump all over that banshee. Word. Even if it a pile of crap you can still figure a way to get $1500 back out of it. Quote

WALLACE84 Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 Go with the shee. I just bought a 2000 for $1500. Cant beat it  Quote
06BaNsHeE Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 I would jump all over that Craptor...Much better deal IMO. Quote
trueraiderfan Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 I would get he shee if it were mee and talk him down another hundo or two. dont get a craptor under an 04 because the 02 and 03 had bad transmission prolbems and I have herd alot of peple say that as well. Quote
alano64 Posted March 10, 2007 Author Report Posted March 10, 2007 No, I don't have a banshee. I have been wanting one for a while. But this stupid raptor came along and it seems like an excellent deal. The raptor is in a bit better shape just because its newer. Either way, thanks for all your responses. I think this is the first forum that people didn't act like assholes because I was new. Appreciate it. Quote
ClimbAnyHill Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 You can do so much more with the Banshee, do yourself a favor and go grab that Banshee. $1500 is dirt cheap!! Quote
blackandyellowshee Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 because the 02 and 03 had bad transmission prolbems I'm pretty sure that just the 01 had the tranny problems. I remember when I wanted one and there was a whole thing about that. Some of the 01's have 02 trannys in them because people don't want theirs to screw up. Maybe I'm wrong, just my .02 Quote
MILO Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 my buddy's '01 rappy had a lot of tranny problems, and some starter problems also. but i think that was mostly just the 01's. if my wife was interested in riding, i'd go for both of them. otherwise, i'd pick the shee and use the rest of the money to build it to suit your riding style / area. if you don't have the extra $$, get the shee anyway. there's a lot more options for mods that you can do, as you can afford it. Quote

Appreciate it. well, if you've been wanting a banshee for a while now then you should go with the shee. you may regret not getting what you've been wanting. unless the banshee is in a lot worse condition than the raptor. if it's just cosmetic stuff, i wouldn't sweat it, there's a lot of good used parts floating around in the for sale forum. plus there is boat load of reasonably priced goodies on line. I'm pretty sure that just the 01 had the tranny problems. this was always my understanding as well. Quote
RagunCajun Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 (edited) I would look to see if i was riding trails or not. Then i would get which one would be best. With me, i wanted a banshee, nothing else. It took about 3 months to actualy find one for a decent price. I actualy had to go to mississippi to get the one. First time i heard it(actualy it was the first timei heard a banshee at all)....sold. Well, i checked many other things on the bike but they still sound awesome! nothing beats the first time you hear how a banshee sounds, especialy when it's sporting some t6 pipes...oh la la.
