SouthernBanshee Posted January 12, 2007 Author Report Posted January 12, 2007 i cant find bel-ray oils here in Argentina. I will try with some honda hp trans oil 80w/85w. I think it will be all right. the motul transoil is 10w30... Quote
CMAC Posted January 12, 2007 Report Posted January 12, 2007 Not to steal anyone's post but i run hinson 10/40 but it seems like everyone runs 80w gear oil on this site. Does 80w make that much of a difference. Not trying to sound stupid Quote

Does 80w make that much of a difference. Not trying to sound stupid Actually 80w gear oil and 80w Bel-ray is completely different. The Bel-ray is a fairly thin oil (compared to gear oil at least) so that comparison can't really be made. I've run both Gearsaver and 10w-30 so...both work. Quote

What do you run now and why? if you dont mind me asking. I know this has been brought up before but i have shit luck on the search. Quote

87sheerips Posted January 13, 2007 Report Posted January 13, 2007 Ive run gearsaver 80w, 7th gear tranny oil (85w), 10w40 4 stroke mtotr oil, now I just put in amsoil 10w40-hopefullly it works good. Pretty much any name brand oil will be good. I switched to 10w40 for the winter to keep it from thickening up. Run what you can buy at the damn store IMO!!! Quote
Canadarider Posted January 13, 2007 Report Posted January 13, 2007 gear saver for me too i find it works really good . Quote
