'99350t Posted December 30, 2006 Report Posted December 30, 2006 well i bought a set of v-3's and they are pretty nice, i got a set of like 1/2" reedspacers sitting around and i was just wondering who has input on them? should i slap them in? i got the reeds in with a toomey 2-1 intake so i dont really have to mod. anything. Karzy5150 Posted December 30, 2006 Report Posted December 30, 2006 it should just add even more top end, i think it is simular to a high rise on a normal hotrod Quote
HotCarl Posted December 30, 2006 Report Posted December 30, 2006 They don't add power, they are used to push the carbs back so they clear the clutch arm. Plus if you don't need them they add one more place for an air leak. Quote

q8banshee3883 Posted December 30, 2006 Report Posted December 30, 2006 I have the V3's and they perform well. Quote
locogato11283 Posted December 30, 2006 Report Posted December 30, 2006 there is some debate on whether or not spacers do anything..the placement of them seems to be the isse (in between manifold and reeds or between the reeds and intake boot..either way youre not gonna notice it. i wouldnt bother using them unless you need to clear the clutch arm.. '99350t Posted December 31, 2006 Author Report Posted December 31, 2006 ok thanks everyone, no spacers it is! Quote
banshee dave Posted January 1, 2007 Report Posted January 1, 2007 I use reed spacers and run v-force3. when I ran my stock carbs without the spacers i got the lightswitch affect, throttle on throttle off. with the spacers it reduces that effect. now i run 34mm pj carbs with the spacers and reeds with billit intakes. I ported the cages to the intakes and what a hellava ride. I don't run a balance tube or boost bottle either and it runs like a bat out of hell. whatever you decide on doing is your dicision. but if you do decide to use your spacers you will need to grind them to fit around the reed cage.my 2 cents Quote
