skyline_898 Posted November 20, 2006 Report Posted November 20, 2006 there are also cords you can buy and hook them up to your radio if u dont have the stocker Quote
5150banshee Posted November 20, 2006 Report Posted November 20, 2006 if you have a AUX you can plug it into that Quote
Satsol67 Posted November 20, 2006 Report Posted November 20, 2006 You can go to www.crutchfield.com they have a lot of good info about that stuff. Once you find what you need search for it cheaper elsewhere. Quote
seabass Posted November 20, 2006 Report Posted November 20, 2006 (edited) The video I pod is only $50.00 more, holds WAY more music, and plays video. I'd compare the two before you decide. I think you'll agree it's a better deal. The adaptor is way overpriced at Circuit City and Best Buy. There's a place near my house called Newbury Comics that sells it for under $20.00. I don't know if they have a website but I'm sure you can find one on-line for a good price. Check it out. Edited November 20, 2006 by seabass Quote
Wallrat Posted November 20, 2006 Report Posted November 20, 2006 iPods have a crossover built into the headphone jack so you won't get quality sound if you hook up via that port. Also, the FM transmitters broadcast on a radio frequency, so your ipod music is going to only be radio quality. Since you're only running the stock system this probably won't bother you. For optimum sound quality, you need to have an adapter that plugs directly into the bottom of the ipod (no crossover) and is hard wired into the head unit (via RCA's usually). Again, on a stock system you probably won't be able to tell the difference. Quote
Animalman294 Posted November 20, 2006 Report Posted November 20, 2006 I hear about people hookin' them up all the time, but I have never heard the sound quality............ Quote
blak banshee Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 I had an fm transmitter for my nano and it didnt work too good. I just returned it. As far as the unit itself, I like mine. No problems, just get the rubber condom for it to protect. Quote
x the big hit x Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 obviously like people have said hard wiring it into the head unit is best.but as far as quality goes if you want the wire radio transmitter go with the monster (previously stated) but if you have a tape player get that it sounds the best imo Quote
