firefighterjosh Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 Well I am selling a bunch of banshee parts. I was thinking of selling the banshee as a stocker. well I did some pricing and I will prally only get 2 - 3k outta her. I am thinking of buying my UTE quad and keeping the shee. I have always wanted to build a dune/drag machine. So i think the banshee is going to turn into a sleeper. I have all stock parts She looks pretty stock except for the blue frame and black and yellow plastic haha. Just wanted some ppl to post some pics of sleeper quads. I want to see some true sleepers. No decked out quads only deck out engines. Also let me know what you got done. I need some ideas. Quote
smokin 2 stroke Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 well its kinds hard to make it look like a sleeper if u got decked out motor they can smeell hear it and tell but the paddles you have Quote
alisn4x4 Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 well its kinds hard to make it look like a sleeper if u got decked out motor they can smeell hear it and tell but the paddles you have well given if you can see it..... night racing at the dunes up comp hill is a bit more intresting cus you really cant see much of the other guys bike. but other then that, yea... daytime you'll be a near giveaway with what gas you run and other exterior sighns that its a hot bike... LiftdT4R Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 For a sleeper, I'd go with black pipes, you can order most any pipe uncoated, and paint, PC it any color you want, black always looks stock, so you could get away a little there. Other then that, when you rev it, I think most people will be able to tell that it's been worked. I think building a sleeper is a little easier with cars where you can't see the engine. Quote
csrmel Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 you can do some wild stuff to a banshee and have it still look stock. the stock head can be recut to give you any compression ratio and squish you want. stock cylinders can be ported. throw in a 4mm or 10mm crank after you trench the cases. no one will know because those are all internal mods and cant be seen. stock carbs can be bored out as well. keep the stock airbox and mufflers but add some t5's and paint them flat black. i suppose you could resleeve and run blaster pistons for more bore too. if you did all those items, you would have a 100% stock looking motor with the exception of the pipes. one of those custom pipe companys could make you a set of 360 degree pipes which resemble stock pipes but have good preformance. no one would know untill you raced them and beat them. and you would leave them scratching their heads. firefighterjosh Posted October 17, 2006 Author Report Posted October 17, 2006 It dosen't have to be totaly stock but here in Indiana not many ppl know anything about banshees. I am going to have my stock cylinders ported and stuff. I also heard you can have the stock head reshaved and bronzed? Somebody in Georgia does this? Not sure just a rumor I heard. Pretty much gonna be all stock everthing. I was thinking of some CPI pipes and having them black. Even if ppl do know they are not stock..they would prally just think my banshee is piped. Quote
seabass Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 hey you could just keep it stock and ride it like that........ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha keep it and trick it out. stock sucks! Quote
djackbanshee Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 I can show you a pic of my bike when i got it. Looked like a real dump but was really fast Engine was fully built and even had custom made pipes and a handbuilt cromoly frame . Guy who had it before just did not care about what it looked like, the important was that it was fast for tt racing. Quote
seabass Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 i would keep it. what would you get for it????? i regret getting rid of my other banshee. remember theyre a dying breed. 2 STROKES FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
428mustang Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 Well, you can do motor stuff and then when shes just sittin there, they would never tell. Like mine I bored the motor, but in a Hot Rods Cranks, and then the 2 into 1 kit, which is pretty consealed. Then you could take it further and port it or stroke it, or even try to make and aftermarket head look like a stocker. Theres lots of people with pipes, so as long as you dont buy like T-6s, theyll never know. Also, if you wanted to distract them, put some really crappy rims or try to spray paint the frame. Or male like a wooden bumper or something. It might look like stink but it'll go like stink. Quote
firefighterjosh Posted October 18, 2006 Author Report Posted October 18, 2006 Well my banshee was far from stock before. But I want to get a utility quad. I was going to sell the banshee and get a UTility quad and keep racing my 400ex but I am not gonna get crap for the banshee. So I sold almost all my aftermarket stuff. I have some stock rims and the engine needs rebuilt. I think I might buy my Ut quad and sink about 2 - 3k into the banshee engine and be done with it. I like looks. But I do not want to spend another 3k in pretty parts lol. I want to keep racing the 400 in XC so I have to be able to afford the upkeep there. Quote
rocketboy Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 (edited) my trail sleeper .looks like a clean stocker with shitty FMF pipes but in reality theres a lot of work internally in it , this bike will fry tire on pavment in first 4 gears and just seeing the look on a 250cc 2 stroke dirtbike owners face after I walk his ass like a poodle down a long 500 yard field stretch is priceless. looks stock but sounds like a mean lil high strung sumabitch when you wind it out. mods are as follows : my aggressive trail port 194/127 durations with large boysen ports and epoxy filling in transfer ports wiseco prolite pistons with my boost intake ports lightened -12 ounce flywheel +5 igniton timing on stock modifed stator plate NGK wires ported stock carbs bored to 28mm K&n filter with pro design adaptor and no lid carbon fiber boysen pro reeds on ported stock cages milled OEM head for 20.8cc domes FMF fatty pipes with power core silencers Edited October 18, 2006 by rocketboy Quote
