  1. By the sounds of it, that sounds like what my problem is, at least that what I am hoping. Welded gears does not sound like fun. Now that I think about it, I am not 100% sure that I tightened that screw in when I put the new shift star in. Well, now my hopes are up.
  2. Well, guess this makes for a great weekend project. I was hoping I could tell what happened before I tore the cover off. One question through, if the gears were welded, then wouldnt I have only 1 rather then 2??? It almost feels as if the camlock thing on the shift star came off. We'll see when it comes apart. Thanks for your help.
  3. So I was riding the shee around the other day, I have been really easy on it because I am coming out of a rebuild and I am trying to break the motor in right. Any how, I was going down this really long down hill gravel road and tried to downshift, and it did it, then tried again and nothing, it was stuck in 3rd gear. Turned it off and played around with the shifter, but nothing. Limped back home in third, but I still had fourth, so thats two gears. Pull it in the garage, but have not messed with it yet. It doesnt really make the click noise or return to center, if I pull up I get fourth, down I get third. Any ideas? Im thinking the catch on the shift-star may have come off, but I dunno. I know that was really long, but please help.
  4. Well, you can do motor stuff and then when shes just sittin there, they would never tell. Like mine I bored the motor, but in a Hot Rods Cranks, and then the 2 into 1 kit, which is pretty consealed. Then you could take it further and port it or stroke it, or even try to make and aftermarket head look like a stocker. Theres lots of people with pipes, so as long as you dont buy like T-6s, theyll never know. Also, if you wanted to distract them, put some really crappy rims or try to spray paint the frame. Or male like a wooden bumper or something. It might look like stink but it'll go like stink.
  5. Okay, this might sound stupid, but make sure your flywheel is on. Mine did the same thing and it turned out the nut that hold the fly wheel on had come off. Also, check the gap on the CDI or what ever. You cant have a huge gap between the thing on the outside of the flywheel and the CDI thing.
