2stroker4ever Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 Okay, I just got a quart of AMSOIL 10w40 to put into my tranny, and I just need to know how much to put in? Quote
9603banshee Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 1 and 1/2 (1.5) quarts total.....so you just need another 1/2 quart and you're good to go......if you have a lockup it takes approx. 1 and 3/4 (1.75) quarts total.... Quote
jbooker82 Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 Manual says 1.5 L witch is a little more than 1.5 quarts. I believe that the clutch cover also says 1500 CM3 wich is the same thing as 1.5L. Quote
Animalman294 Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 The lock-up takes 1.75 good to know I was wondering that a little while back, because I am getting one with the new cub............. Quote
2003LimitedBanshee Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 1.6 US quarts for a change, 1.8 US quarts on a total disassembly. I personally put 1.8 quarts in every change. I always warm the bike up by riding around for a few minutes, then drain and refill. I put 1.6 quarts in on my first change, years ago, and it didn't seem to fill it up to my liking. Quote
BigRed350x Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 Its stamped all over your side cover how much to put in. 1500cm Quote

96dragbanshee Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 1500cm3 meaning 1.7 quarts of oil. Quote
TREELIZARD Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 I always put 2 quarts in for the oil change. the extra oil will help prevent the ball from welding itself to the push rod Quote
