  3. Here's some pics for those that wanted to see it. It's also missing one cap off the silencer that dropped off on the last ride somehow. The wire you see going down the outside of the tank is the old throttle cable that broke while I was in the UP, so I had to rig it up by clamping a small piece of metal over it, and then getting the thumb thottle to hold it in there.. I have a new one, and just need to put it on. Anyway, here's the pics:

  6. Located near Plainwell/Kalamazoo Michigan, I have a 1997 banshee for sale. I bought the bike about a year ago, and now need to sell it to get the cash for a truck, the bike's in very good condition, and if you're interested you can PM me or contact me on AIM via: maelstrom53. I'll list some mods/stats on the bike, and if you want pictures I can take some and post them up or email them to you. 1997 Red/Black Banshee FMF Gold Series pipes/silences MSR handlebars Lonestar P-brake blockoff 22" Hole-shot knockoff rear tires, 50% tread probly, but still hookup good. New chain, rear axle bearings, brake pads, and throttle cable Fly clutch lever Race cut fenders AC nerf bars w/ wide pegs black nets AC six pack rack PC'd red frame, black swinger, a-arms, black motor/case, red head/case cover parts. The bike has some problems kick starting on it's own when it's cold, and will not idle unless you barely touch the throttle. If pull started behind another quad it'll fire up the first time you try, and run perfect.. One day this problem just started to happen out of no-where, I've been told it could either be a problem with the pilot jets, or maybe a loss of compression, but I find the latter a little hard to believe, because it runs just as strong as the day I got it, and still smokes everyone I ride with. At any rate, that's the only problem with it. Once's it's been started up once it will start first kick every time. If interested, shoot me some offers and we'll see what we can work out..
  7. My shee's been sittin outside under a lean-to and it hasn't ran since end of august. It has a considerable amount of gas/oil in it right now, but that has been in it since it's been sitting. It was 93oct. mixed with yamalube @ 32:1. I was planning on draining the gas tank and refilling it with a fresh mix, but I figured I'd ask if this is necessary before i take the time to do it. If anyone has any input please let me know because I'm about to leave in a few minutes here. Also is there anything else you can think of I need to check? Thanks much!

  9. Boy I'm gonna be severly angry if this thing needs a new top end already.. Being that this one only has like 30hrs on it, and for only trail riding and stuff that sounds ridiculous to me. If that's the case, guess I might be gettin a 4poke afterall. Still don't see how 1 day it starts perfect, and the next it wont start when cold..
  10. The jetting is just a little off on the top, my main concern was to why it just stopped starting one day. Pull starting it is gettin a little old. It starts perfect first kick after that though..
  11. Fresh plugs, fresh gas, 93octain mixed 32:1, and I dont have a pro-flo, it's just the stock airbox/filter, with the lid cut out.
  12. I've got FMF fatties, no air box lid, stock filter, and everything else stock. My TORS is disabled, but the carb tops are still on, but the bike won't idle, and I've got some 27.5 pilots some1 said to try puttin in to solve that problem, but my other question is, does a 280 main sound right for the mods, I'm at about 900ft elevation I believe here in SW Michigan. The quad seems just a tad boggy on the top end, like when u shift into 6th, it bogs a little before it hits the powerband. So I was wondering if 300 mains would possibly fix that? Also, just recently, the quad quit starting, it will now only start if being pulled when cold. Although after that, it starts first kick every time when warm. Any ideas on that? Choke tubes are connected, and everything's hooked up..

  14. Get a silencer?? lol, YOU CHOAKED A CAT WITH A BELT! omfg.. haha, I dunno man, try like, a pellet gun or something, although you'd want it to die quick, it would suck to watch it just suffer for hours.
  15. Well I snapped my old stocker chain today, so it's time to buy a new one. I have a couple questions, and just want people's opinions. My chain adjusters dont work so well, cuz the last moron crossthreaded the hell out of them so they are pretty much stuck all the way out. I.E. as big as you can go. So I need to know how many links to buy in the chain. I have a stock swinger, and like I said the adjusters all the way out. Also, I've been looking on Magic Racing, and just wanted some people's opinions on brand, Xring/Oring, etc... So, what ya think?
  16. GET THE SHEE!!! Just a month or so ago I was looking for a new quad, much like you are now, and my friends ride 400's and warriors and stuff.. I was thinking of getting a 400 for the reliability/etc... but Instead of bought a '97 Banshee for $1900!!!!! It was in near perfect cosmetic condition, and perfect running order. PC'd red frame, black swinger/aarms, pipes, new back tires, etc.... and SMOKES all my friends with easy. My friend's 300ft or so grassy strip through his field, he has a piped 400, and i take off in second, and dont even have room to get to 4th a lot of times.. Leave him in the dust with a little clutch work on the take off to keep spinning down to a minimum and in the power. SO WHAT YOU MAY HAVE TO REBUILD, it's EASY to do, and only needed once in a long while. Man if you found a deal on a 'shee for 2500 or less, then you could take that other money and put it waaaaay ahead of your friends.

  19. Flames/tribals always seem to be a popular choice... Although sort of run-of-the-mill. EDIT: On second though.. have you ever seen the paint job's on cars/trucks where it looks like the paint is peeling back, and there's like diamond plate underneath or what have you... that on the side of a banshee tank could look siick.

What all would I need to get into Silver Lake.. after reading some stuff about it, they sound like real tight-asses about what gets in and what doesnt, and vouchers, and all kinds of other crap... I have FMF pipes, with I believe FMF silencers... would that even pass their sound/emissions tests and such? They say 94db's is the limit, 20inches from the end of the silencer. And do FMF silencers the proper spark arresters??? Also where can I get a flag pole/flag that meets their size req.'s... Also, if anyone could tell me how the admission thing works, that would be great! 1 more question... how fun do you think it would be with only a set of razr's on, instead of paddles..?
