Hilarious Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 Take the 450, try out the sand. Then fix your banshee and make another trip back to the dunes. You may have more fun on your banshee once ur clutch is fixed and you are able to stop. Quote
DirtyFitz Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 I'd say Banshee but one of the #1 things you HAVE to have is brakes on the sand. Just take your 450 and have a good time man. Quote
decon Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 overnight the parts for the banshee :thumb: Quote
dawarriorman Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 overnight the parts for the banshee :thumb: Sounds good to me! Overnight a new clutch, and get it on ASAP. And rear brakes are overrated anyways, you don't need them. Quote
Animalman294 Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 I'd personally run the 450 this trip. Those things are pretty fast even in stock trim. Then you can see how you like the sand and get used to riding in this new environment, its not like ridin' in the dirt. Then you can get your clutch fixed right, and put your brakes because you don't know how many a$$-holes don't know how to ride out there and if you need to stop in a hurry to avoid a collision brakes are nicve to have. Play it safe on this one that way you can ride again another day. You also just rebuilt your top end and this way you can put more hours on it before goin' to the dunes again. Nothin' sucks more than goin' all the way out to the dunes gettin' a few rides in and enjoyin' the sand and having a part fail and spending the rest of the trip wrenchin' on your ride..................... Take the 450 and have fun.......................... Quote
MYquadsFaster Posted July 20, 2006 Author Report Posted July 20, 2006 ok so i think i am just going to take the YFZ.. better safe than sorry....thanks for the help guys Quote

jakehopt Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 Yeah what the hell is a rear brake? Yeah but think about those ppl who don't know what a quad is, they might ride right infront of you or cut you off or possibly run tread marks all over your face all while you could have stopped it before it started. It's best to take the 450...better safe then sorry eh. Quote

It's best to take the 450...better safe then sorry eh. lol...your at the dunes and you dont know what a quad is? ...ok...but I think thats why they have flags on the bikes so you can see someone coming over a dune or coming at you. I believe they do display safety information at the entrance of most dunes...I know the dunes I go to do. Front brakes provide plenty of stopping power, I never use my rear brakes in the dunes...its just more convenient to you the hand brake lever than your foot. But it's whatever he decides to do... BansheeRider71 Posted July 22, 2006 Report Posted July 22, 2006 Id say take the YFZ because it is also a good dune bike too and it handles like a dream and its suspension is real good too. I own a YFZ and If I were you Id take the YFZ even though I want to and plan on getting a Banshee. Quote
