DemonShee Posted June 13, 2006 Report Posted June 13, 2006 My setup is a 4mm stroker long rod, dune porting, cool head with cut domes, 35mm airstrykers, fmf fatty's, +5 timing advance. I have a +4 swinger and am running comp cut paddla brats, 9 paddle. Right now I am one tooth down on the front from stock. Not sure what stock even is LOL. Seams too low to me??? Quote
Blue Duece Posted June 13, 2006 Report Posted June 13, 2006 stock is a 14, you must have a 13, id go at least a 15 with that setup, maybe if 6th peters on you up hills in the sand go the 14, i pull 6th at dumont with a 17 put thats running hole shots in the sand so im probally spinning............. the paddles hook and tend to make ya bog a little more, bring a few sprockets with you, next time you dune and see what you think Quote
Wallrat Posted June 13, 2006 Report Posted June 13, 2006 (edited) i have 13 41 on my cub Yeah both of you are running the wrong gearing. I agree w/ duece, put on a 15 and see how it does. You'll probably end up w/ a 15 front and then you can fine tune it a little w/ the rear. Stock is 14/41 by the way. I've got 15/41 on my stroker and I'm close, but not right yet. I was pulling 5th up Oldsmobile on 20" sandstars. As an added bonus, your chain/sprockets will last longer by ditching that 13! Edited June 13, 2006 by Wallrat Quote

jankab Posted June 13, 2006 Report Posted June 13, 2006 how does a 13/40 work? 13 is kinda small in the front, with a motor like he's got it has the poer to pull a 15t in the front Quote
wesw Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 depends on what gear you like to start out in. if sec usually stock will work. depends on the sand and what not. around here we gear to start off in sec gear. Quote
Leadfoot350 Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 it all depends on the roll out of the new tires you get. I have 73 RO and I run 13-40 and pull 5th up oldsmobile hill. Quote
FasterThanU90 Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 really u guys think i should step it up jeff i guess lost mine and asked what size i wanted so i asked for his opinion and he said 13 :baseball_wassat: does it pull wheelies smoother with the taller gearing? Quote
