I would like to meet as many HQer's as possible while am out there an I thought if there was such a thing as an offical HQ flag it would be a good way to meet some of you. Is there an HQ flag? Quote
Bigairee Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 I played around with it a few years back. I took a BHQ sticker and found some thick orange vinyl. I didn't have a good way to attach the vinyl to the pole. Would probably work for a ride or 2 but not much more. Lee may still have some stickers you could stick to a plain orange flag. Quote

dalegoldston Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 Why couldn't you do a vinyl. Have a right side do a mirror image next to it, peel and fold in half around a flag pole. It would be hard to line it up to fold but maybe worth a try and it would stand straight without droop (the girls like that) like a canvas flag. Chase you should work up a proto type on a pole for us to see. Quote

Plus, since the shees are so fast how could anyone read the flag pole? Are there any specific dimensions or material that the flag needs to me made from? Some places won't allow writing on the orange flag (can't remember which dunes had that rule, LS maybe?) anyway I thought the blue BHQ flag right under the standard orange looked good... Quote

California and Nevada allow flags on the backs of quads, but I hear there are states that want you to put the flag on the front of the quads instead. Instead of smackin' in the back of the helmet on squirly shit it would hit you in the face. I would be interested in the HQ flag when you iron out the details. The idea with the smaller or same size flag below the orange one would be cool. That way you could get the HQ flag in different colors and then still have the visibility of the bright orange............ Quote
KlotzBanshee Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 I would def be interested in a BHQ flag for the dunes if you guys could come up with something nice looking, and permanent. Here in Michigan the only place that I know of that requires a flag is Silver Lake. The flag is required to go on the back, must be like 10 foot tall I think, and has to be an orange square flag, like about 8 x 10 maybe? I some one could make one like that, I'd buy at least a couple. Quote
