Cylinders are at Passion waiting to be ported (12-port Stroker). Jim's pretty busy so its gonna be a while before I get them back. While I am waiting I figured I'd overhaul the suspension (which I am doing) but had a few other questions.

Bike is going to be mainly a duner, what size swinger do I need? I was just gonna keep it stock, but that may be suicide with the 12-port stroker. Would +4 be enough to get by with in the dunes and also do some dragging?

Also, I currently run SandStar tires and I hear that my bike isnt going to hookup with those anymore... so I guess I am in the market for some Haulers, how many paddles will should I get? What size tire? 20, 21 ,22? Bike should be around 80hp when all said and done.

Lots of questions, hopefully you can help.

i would go with a +6 swinger and some 21 or 22 inch 10 paddels haulers. i have a passion conventional hot dune port jim said that it sould be with in 3 to 5 hp of the 12 port (mid to upper 70 HP) and i wouldn't go any shorter than the +6 swinger i'm running the front end gets in the air still but it is very predictable . i am switching over to 22 inch 10 paddel haulers my self . you should be very happy with you bike when its all back together. jim gave me more than i was expecting. (which was a good thing)

My only reservation with going longer than +4 is I want it to handle ok on the hard pack too, I do ride open desert as well. How will +6 handle for regular dune riding? I am not trying to make my bike a drag only bike, want to still be able to have the freedom to ride wherever whenever. I know tight trails will be out, but thats fine.

when i had my +6 swinger and 20x10x10 haulers it was still a decent duner untill i went with the 22x11x8 haulers duning pretty much went to crap :shrugani:

Fast 500," i have a passion conventional hot dune port ", is this more than a "normal" dune port but not wuite a dune port? If that makes any sense at all. Also is your motor still stock, as in not a stroker?

Sounds like good #'s thats why I'm asking.

the way jim expailed it to me is it is more than a regular dune port and not quite a drag port. yes i am still stock stroke. i haven't had it on a dyno but i am pretty sure the numbers are really close. i raced a bike that dynod at 80hp and was right on his ass about one bike lenght back and i weigh 30lbs more than he did and he is no slouch in the riding skills department either. when i get bigger carbs and different pipes i wanna dyno it for sure. as far as the +6 swinger it hasen't effected duneabilty much at all. it handles fine on hard pack and deasert riding .it makes trail riding a pain but my bike is set up for dunes any way. but i do like to have to work at riding it makes it fun for me, if i didn't i would ride a four stroke.

i ran a +4 with mine didnt have a problem. if your going to drag mainly i would get a +6 but a 4 worked very well.

open riding on a PLUS 6 is a death trap........either you have a sand rail or you have a desert bike

I would say you should be fine with a +4...

I may run 4mil Cubs in the future with a +2, although it might be better with a +4 in the end I doubt I will fork out another 700 for a new swinger and another 300 for a new shock to be revalved.

Well.. what would you recommend then? I see you are running a -2 with your 12-port... isnt it a little sketchy?

Well.. i like the +4 idea too.. where should I get it from? I was looking at quicksand and modquad.. both are the same price (look identical too)... any suggestions on who to buy from? Was hoping to order it today.
