I just bought my first handgun today (well I pick it up next friday,,,, tax return pay day). I bought a Ruger P90. 45 auto, stainless and black. I went to the courthouse today and got my "carry permit". I do need to read on the laws though. I do not plan to carry on a regular basis, but its nice to have just in case.

My big plan is to get into target shooting, and hopefully get back into the shooting lifestyle. I have been into riflles and shotguns for my whole life, now its time for a sweet handgun.

Anyone own one of these,, and any opinions?? :D

Ruger is a very nice gun. Keep it clean and it should treat you well.

I just picked up another handgun last weekend before I went shooting with Rippen. Only had 150 rounds through it so far.

Smith & Wesson 9mm with two 16 round clips. Paid $300

i dont own that brand of gun but i have others. you will have to practice to become proficient with it. a rifle is alot easier to shoot than a hand gun. good luck and becareful.

Congratz on the new toy...it doesn't come as much of a surprise that someone who loves Banshees, also loves firearms. I've got Ruger's P-85 in 9mm and it's been alotta fun. Not sure how I feel about carryin it around, although I think I can see both sides of someone who might want to. If you are someone who enjoys reading about their passions..check out a fella named Massad Ayoob on Google. Quite an amazing man and his insight on firearm related things is never a waste of time. Good luck and happy plinkin'!

I have a couple rugers. Neither are semi auto pistols, but I can tell you they are a quality company. I have a super black hawk 44 mag. and a old 10-22. The 44 is sweet, but I havent had it but about 2 years or so. The 10-22 I've had since I was 8 years old... I'm 29 now! Were talking ass loads of rounds have been fired through this thing. Treat them good, and they will last you forever.

Rugers are good guns I used to have a p89 9mm and still have several rugers. They work great and are also american made. I would still have the p89 but I sold it to buy a gun for concealed carry, the ruger was just to big. The 2 in the right of the picture are rugers: the top one is a 22/45 and the bottom is a security six 357. The one on the bottom left is what replaced the p89 it is a glock 27 with the clipdraw for concealed carry.

if you're lookin for quality, you can't go wrong with a Ruger. i have a P93DC 9mm, and a GP100 .357 (6"). both are excellent guns. i've yet to shoot a deer with my .357 but i have with my dad's gp100, and his super redhawk .44. i've never had any problems with either of mine, or the old man's. just stick to Ruger magazines for your semi-auto. i've tried a few aftermarket ones and they always jammed. my Ruger mags have never jammed. Ruger does make a few fine weapons and some junk as well. There std rifle barrels are junk. And yes I will hear how they are great from some shooters but any one that is after very small groups will not be happy with them. But props to any one that buys a new gun. What ever the brand I am glad to see it posted here. LET FREEDOM RING

I think the 10/22 is one of the top 10 guns ever made.

Tell us what you think of it when you get it. I may want one.
