I want some more power... CHEAP! I have access to an old millin machine and i have a stock head on my 98' shee. IT's bored .60 over, w/ Dollar General (DG)pipes, and k&n clip ons. How much should i take off... Is this even a good idea???

Yea it would help to some degree, but I'm trying to remember how much to take off the head... If you dont plan on getting your cill's ported the compression that you want is 150 to 160 PSI for none ported, and for ported I think it's 140 to 150 PSI for ported Cill's. It's been awhile sence I've done that type of work on my old 94 shee. I'm sure that someone will have better info on the exact amount to mill off the head. Good luck on your Quest....

I was looking at your sig; Not to be an ass , but if you want cheap power.....pack your silencers. Plus its easier on your ears. :)

umm... i've been a banshee owner for three years, rebulit 3 motors and i HAVE NO CLUE WHAT THE SQUISH is! i hate to sound stupid...

Squish is the area of the combustion chamber that comes closest to the piston normally the outside perimeter of the combustion chamber. I am no expert but I do know tighter squish can improve performance however to tight and I beleive performance and cooling (Quench?) is negativly effected. I am sure some one on here has more info than I.

dont shave your head if u want a little more power but cheap just get a smaller head gasket and get reed spacers for better throttle response and it will help get you bike into the powerband a lot quicker. when i did that i was used to going 3rd and 4th through the dunes and now im going 4th and 5th thats how much of a difference it makes.

you can shave about .035 off the head and not have to worry with the squish much, but you wont benifit from a better dome design..

if you are going to go through the trouble of milling the head, i would send it to someone and get it milled and rechamberd.. meaning the head would be milled to spec then the dome would be re-profiled. giving you a better combustion area and gaining even more over just milling it..
