01bansheefox Posted January 21, 2006 Report Posted January 21, 2006 Someone posted the converter awhile ago to fnid out your top speed by typing in your sprocket sizes and tire size and it will give you a close estimate just curious is this somewhat right? Mine came out to 104mph, if I put 22'' tires on the back. http://home.earthlink.net/~gellett/banshee.htm Quote
[email protected] Posted January 21, 2006 Report Posted January 21, 2006 its not far off from what i top out at . Quote
rebelbanshee2 Posted January 21, 2006 Report Posted January 21, 2006 i think its pretty close too. You have to actually be able to pull max rpm to go the speed it says. Quote
01bansheefox Posted January 21, 2006 Author Report Posted January 21, 2006 Well i bumped up my rpms a bit because i have drag pipes and 34mm carbs, but I dont know how much I should raise it by, i put 500 just a guess. Quote
locogato11283 Posted January 21, 2006 Report Posted January 21, 2006 power is the key here. the more power, the faster you can go. i highly doubt that a stock port banshee with just pipes is gonna be pullin 100+ mph..i guess i could be wrong tho.. Quote
[email protected] Posted January 21, 2006 Report Posted January 21, 2006 not to get all technical but the bigger the gearing the faster you go ..... however you must have the power to pull bigger gearing. Quote

Mine does 9750 rpm. I have mx porting and PT mids. I figured my rpms. backwards. I knew mine top speed, used a gps. It was 71-72. I put in my tires and gearing and keeped changing my rpms till I got the top speed of around what I was really getting. It came out to 9750 rpm. Quote

[email protected] Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 well u always gotta take into factor that fat fucks slow there bikes down lol ....... but theres alota factors into determining speed but overall its a great calculator Quote
banshee tuner Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 I don't know my rpm's but my gps said I was doing 83.6 with 15-42 gearing and no portwork. Quote
NYUK Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 the table is theoretical. the only REAL way to see your top speed is to go to a quarter mile drag strip.most strips will let you run your banshee, boots, leather gloves and jacket.and a working tail light.at 100 mph, any normal banshee will be vibrating like a 400lb, dildo.with the tallest gears that will fit, you will be out of gear by the 8th mile. keep it pinned and hope it doesn t blow up, then lock up.i have been 111mph on a chromoly drag framed banshee, and over 100 mph on a stock frame.believe me it s fuckin scary. run your bike about 5 times, check your time slips. that will be your top speed, anything else, trailtech speedo, radar. driving next to a yellow fiesta.all a guess. When I first ran my rigid chassis and this drag port, I was nervous to hit 5th I was rolling so fast. That was with 18/38 gearing Quote
