I have a 1986 Suzuki LT250R, but it has a 521.2cc 2-cylinder Rotax snowmobile motor in it. When I bought it, I would hit the primer 3 times, pull twice and it would fire right off, and idle. I rode it maybe 5 times with no issues. The bike sat for about a month without running, and all of a sudden, I couldn't get the thing to run. I would have to hold it full throttle, and pull it over almost a hundred times to get it to light off. Of course it wouldn't idle either, but as long as you kept it running, it was OK. I put fresh spark plugs in it, and it didn't help. Yesterday I couldn't get it to start at all. I am sure this is a fuel issue, so the question is, what would cause it? I have 93 octane mixed 4 gallons/1 quart with Wal-Mart 2-stroke motor oil. This is the first 2-stroke I have owned, so any info/tips would be appreciated.

First off walmart oil sucks major ass.... second you could have anything from old gas (gummed up gas tank) which means your have to flush/clean your carb and tank.... More than likely it's trash in your carb from that no airbox K&N setup....

I was thinking I should rebuild the carbs. I was hoping I would find some quik things to try first. What kind of 2-stroke oil should I get? I have built a 2 into 1 that goes from the carbs, up under the seat to a single K&N since the pic was taken. Also, I think the quart/4 gallons is 64/1 if I remember right. What do you guys run?

You're way rich on your oil. I mix my Amsoil at 80:1 that's 8 ounces of oil to 5 gallons of gas. Most will mix 40:1 which would be approximately half a quart to 5 gallons. I think you're close to 16:1, isn't a quart 32 ounces and a gallon 128? so 4 x 128 = 512/32 = 16:1

Cool, I'll empty the tank, flush the lines, and get some better oil at the bike shop. If that doesn't do the trick, I'll tear the carbs down. Thaks for the info guys. I've been looking for a place to get info for a while. I'm glad I stumbled upon this site (even though I don't have a Banshee).

I'm willing to bet if you don't clean your carbs and buy new plugs it still won't run...

I actually changed the plugs yesterday before I tried to start it, so they haven't been ran yet. I'll buy another set just in case though (I tried to start it for quite a while). When you guys clean your carbs, do you completely tear them down, and replace all the gaskets and everything, or what? I just want to ride this damn thing with some sort of reliability. It's a blast, but I've spent most of my time staring at it in the garage :yank:

Tear the bottom part off (bowl) and unscrew the pilot/main jet... blow carb cleaner through them and all through/around the carb....
