milo_32000 Posted December 27, 2005 Report Posted December 27, 2005 What is the BEST trans oil to use ? I have seen a lot of do`s and don`ts, I had Mobil 1 10/ 30 in mind, good or bad ? Thanks , Milo Quote
watkins Posted December 27, 2005 Report Posted December 27, 2005 Its all about preference. I personally like BelRay Gear Saver 80w. You will get a ton of different responses on this one. I would just search the boards and read all the previous posts on this topic. There are many great oils out there. Quote

smkmupbanshee Posted December 27, 2005 Report Posted December 27, 2005 I USE BELRAY IN MY TRAIL BIKE AND AMSOIL IN MY DRAG BIKE, I LIKE THE AMSOIL BETTER PLUS IT'S CHEAPER SINCE I GET IT AT COST SO I'M SWITCHING TO ALL AMSOIL. Quote
slowpokebanshee Posted December 28, 2005 Report Posted December 28, 2005 don't do it......do not put mobil one in your transmission....i did it, worked great when the bike was ice cold, but as soon as it warmed up could not find neutral, and missed shifts and clutch slip...had to change the oil like ten times, before it was back to the way it was, I use Redline shockproof lightweigfht gear oil now and it works awesome... MILO Posted December 28, 2005 Report Posted December 28, 2005 bel-ray gear saver --80w - in the banshee and nephew's blaster - no problems Quote
23champ Posted December 28, 2005 Report Posted December 28, 2005 Gearsaver...best shit I ever used Quote
fast87 Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 type F automatic transmission fluid...FINALLY switched over from the "energy conserving" super tech wal mart shit...it made my clutch slip, after about 8 hours on new oil it was dark grey with clutch fiber material...brand new clutch too!! yes i broke it in AND soaked them in oil first(but only for about a minutes each plate)...ran 2 hours on the new type F and it looks like brand new, no dark fiber in it at all, plus 4 bucks for 2 quarts can't be beat, i dumped in 2 full quarts to make sure the clutch ball doesn't weld itself to the rod...works great and it migth be slightly harder to find neutral, but it doesn't bother me one bit..knowing my clutch will last longer it worth it, i highly recommend it, others may think differently.. ~Mark~ Quote
Malott 1 Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 We use type f in the drag bikes but it's changed pretty often. I change mine out after every weekend of racing since it is so cheap. Quote
