ZillaRider02 Posted November 20, 2005 Report Posted November 20, 2005 I just finished up a top end on a buddies Banshee. Bored the cylinders ".020, Aggresive Dune Port job, CPI inframes, New Reeds, Cool Head (20cc Domes). The bike had been sitting for about 3 months, but ran great before. Now, it won't hardly idle and dies when you just the throttle. When it does idle it revs to the moon all by its self. It has 25 pilots, 2 turns out on the A/F mixture, and 300 mains. I'm thinking a TORS eliminator kit, 27.5 pilots and go from there. Any thoughts on it revving on its own? How do you set up the idle on the TORS boxes? Any help is much appreciated. Quote
locogato11283 Posted November 20, 2005 Report Posted November 20, 2005 did u put the crossover tube back in between the carbs? if its not that, did you take the slides out for any reason? if so i bet u have one in the wrong way..this is not a jetting problem by the way..the jetting may be off, but its not causing it to rev skyhigh upon startup. checkthe 2 things i mentioned Quote

4everwantedbanshee Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 i had the exact problem and it was the tors for me. once i removed them and adjusted the idel it was fine. hope it helps. Quote

ZillaRider02 Posted November 21, 2005 Author Report Posted November 21, 2005 Crossover tube is in place, and I checked for air leaks at carb boots, base gasket, etc. I have had both slides out, but they were put in the same way they came out. What concerns me about this is that it doesn't immediately rev up. It waits about 30 seconds and then starts to rev. Thanks for the input guys. I guess I should go ahead and order the TORS eliminator and try that. Quote
SANDSTAR Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 This is what happens when a suzuki fan works on a Banshee. Quote
bizaarbanshee Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 I had alot of trouble with TORS..I donr away with it..I was alot better...Then I got my 34mm's..It woke it up alot Quote
odaen Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 sounds like the bowls are running dry for some reason, and the mixture starts getting lean as it runs out of gas, causing it to rev like that. Do you have an inline fuel filter on it? Maybe a partially clogged fuel line or something. Check to see that yoru pipes aren't burning yoru fuel line and sealing it almost shut. I damn near did that with my old motor. I wasn't careful about the routing of my fuel line and it laid against my pipe.....it was almost ugly. Quote

My first thought was the floats in one of or both or you bowls might be sticking. I had the same syptoms on another quad that were the same and thats what it was. Quote
