lockup's are a unit that is bolted on to the pressure plate and works by centrifical force .the more the motor revs the harder it squeezes the pressure plate against the clutch plates to keep clutch from slipping.you must have clutch cover modded to use this unit and unless your motor is putting out close to 100 hp there is really no need for one.also almost everyone that sells a lockup dont tell you to also install a bearing kit to keep the clutch adjuster ,ball and pushrod from welding they're selves together from the extra pressure put on them.

^^^^^I agree :) I've got one and my clutch does NOT slip at all. I don't have a 100hp engine but I felt the lockup was worthwhile since I only drag race it.

In this pic here, you can see the lockup unit that's bolted to the outside of the pressure plate. It has weights on it too to help with the extra force. If you look close, you can see where they cut the front of the stock clutch cover and bolted the extended piece on there, and added the quick change cover.

The billet clutch basket is good to have because it'll withstand the abuse from the clutch disks a lot longer than a stock clutch basket would. They usually run about 250 bucks, give or take a little...if you get a lockout, get the billet clutch basket too.

Thanks man! 400 sounds a little steep to me, you can get the cover modded and the lockout straight from direct drive for 320 plus shipping, and you get your choice of like 5 or 6 different covers (clear, smoke, red, etc.)

LICK EM!! :P:angry: I did a search and didnt find the info I was looking for. I am not a newby to the forum world,I am a 30 year old seasoned duner that is just new to the banshee world :shrugani: because I rode a DS650 and a 400EX before that. I fuggin hate it when smart asses like yourself tell people to do a search. Parts change, people's opinions of the parts change, ect. So a little redundancy doesnt hurt anyone. Go Fugg a goat and leave the banshee talk to those on here that are gentleman enough to answere my question.

Thanks for the replies guys!! :headbang: Cept yours BBB :yank:

Hey bigboy that looks tight. Do you have a hard time shifting when you on the gas? I have been told that I need to get one because my bike will eat some clutch plates real fast. oh yeah you missed a spot when you polished the side case.... :whoa:

I run lockup's in all my bikes. Even in my dune bike. There is very little diffences in the pull on a lockup. The only differnce that I can tell is that clutch seem to engage a little earlier when you release the cluth lever, and all the power makes it to the ground. It's is a great product. Not to mention the covers look really trick. Give me a shout if any of you need them I can hook you up with a great price.

iam not sure if the lock up clutch is adjustable for the banshee. but drag car the clutch slipes a little in the lower rpms so the tires keep thier traction and then as the rpms go up it applies more presure and locks the clutch. i would think that the lock-ups for the banshees would be the same.
