crbanshee Posted July 17, 2005 Report Posted July 17, 2005 this morning i went to a local dealership here in san diego, for oil and plugs..as i was walking in a salesman was talking to a guy that just bought a new trx450 they were waiting for another sales person to come help load this guys brand new bike into the truck..the guy is driving a dodge with a 700 foot lift on it well the 2 sales guys go to load this guys bike and it goes falling out of the truck lands on the right side and breaks the bars and plastics..the sales man looks at the guy and tells him that he will sell him new bars and plastics at cost..so as im st the parts counter i see all 3 of them walk into the sales office next thing i know this guy is walking out with a different bike..the sales manager upgraded this poor guy to a limited edition trx 450 and hooked him up with all brand new gear..i thaught that was prety cool of the dealership to do seeing as how they killed a bike with zero hours on it Quote

I remember when I bought my bike, I took my trailor to pic it up. Some sales guys loaded it up and tied it down. Well thank god I put the kickstand down because on my way home the right side tie down let loose. Talk about almost crapping your drawers when you see your new bike all of the suddent take a left dive in your rear view mirror. Quote

Come to find out the truck just had about $20,000 custom paint job and was picked up about 1 hour before this happened. Talk about having a bad day Quote

They shouldn't have said a fuckin word. They should have just taken the bike back and exchanged it on the spot. Maybe got the guy a drink or a foot rub for his troubles. I know a few dealers around here have ramps on hand, a couple have loading docks, but still...... Some sales guys loaded it up and tied it down I learned my lesson the hard way. I let my brother in law tie down some stuff in my truck...the tie down came loose, one end went under the rear tire, and the other grabbed onto the taillight. Tore the tail light off and left a nice size dent in the rear of the bed. From now on anything that goes in the bed of my truck gets tied down by me... Oh by the way, you didn't happen to find out where this guy got got his 700 inch lift did ya?? that would be just the right hight to fit 33's under my dodge... Edited July 18, 2005 by Otis Quote

Put the Raptor in the back of his truck and the Warrior on the trailer. On his way home on the freeway the Warrior let loose and rolled off the trailer at about 55. He went to El Centro Ca. with 2 dirtbikes int he back of his truck and his TRX400 on the tailgate tied down really well. Well he got to El Centro and his TRX400 was not on the tail gate anymore. He never found it. He back tracked all the way to his house and never found it. He's still paying on the thing Quote
racer Posted July 18, 2005 Report Posted July 18, 2005 haha, i still think that kinda stuff is funny cause i used to work at a dealer. who knows how much money in tires i smoked-off in our warehouse, most on brand new cbr's and yzf's. then count up how many scratches we buffed to a nice shine (until the first wash), and then talk about used bikes. you couldnt PAY me enough to buy a used bike from a dealer. when they say, "oh its been well maintaind and we serviced it," they mean we dug up this hunk of shit from joe blow's backyard where it sat in mud 2 feet deep, and checked the oil. You go to the dealer to pick it up and load it on the trailer. Next thing you know on the way home the trailer comes unhitched, eats the higway, head for the ditch and totals out the new R1 with no insurance on it yet. That's a bad day for someone right there, thank goodness it wasnt me! Quote
