From what I remember they didn't run very strong. The port layout was not very innovating. I want to say there was not a real big increase in flow through the transfers which was limiting.

I got pretty much the same setup and I run 14/40 with 9 paddle haulers.

Your base gasket doesn't come into contact with the coolant. If coolant is pooling on top of the case check the head gasket first. If that isn't the problem check the o-ring on the tube that comes out of the clutch cover and goes to the head.

Four strokes aren't necessarily more reliable, it's all about how you take care of it and how you ride it. My banshee went 15 years before it needed a set of pistons. The only reason the ones that I had in there went is because I did something stupid to cause it.

I have a 89 Cherokee with a 4.0 and auto trans, never had a single probelm with the engine or transmission and they have 235000 miles on them. Just change the oil and go.

I'm guessing this is just kind of an all around port, but the transfers should be a little higher. I've always liked to set my blow down at 32-33 degree's or so. I wouldn't mess with the exhaust anymore. Hope this helps. Pete

You're not completely wrong. You're not going to get more SPL out of a sealed box. SPL is more a measure of pressure than sound, thats why they use ported boxes to create as much pressure as possible. Now more SQ out of a ported box ... maybe. Depends on the box if you can get a box to have a flat bl then it will have pretty good sound quality. But for most people a sealed enclosure will sound cleaner, especially in situations where the box is in the cab of something. Also one of the big things in SQ is tuning, people just don't know how to or just want something to make noise. In that sense most woofers can become a SQ sub even though their design isn't for it you can still get dececnt SQ out of them in the right box etc.

I would recomend 3 Resonant Engineering XXX 12. Your gonna need about 4000 watts rms to push one well. The older models worked better with 2000 watts. Other than that a soundsplinter rls is an awesome woofer. Theres a lot more good woofers i'm not mentioning here though.
