  1. Shee has been gone for about a month now or so. Sold it and bought the 2nd Honda.
  2. The shee is gone. And he has bought a 2nd 450R for the wife. Think he's in Vegas right now. He rode with us a few weeks ago and is having fun on the Honda so far.
  3. I can't believe the money they are paying clean up folks down there. make sme ponder the idea. Have a friend down there that is doing cleanup, he was down there a few weeks at a $1000 a week and now they are saying $1800 a week if he wants to come back. I they said 10 hr days 6 days a week. But that is some hella good money to bring home! Kinda makes me wonder why more of the displaced residents aren't down there scooping that money up to clean up there own area ya know?
  4. ATV insurance folks. Unless you have a way to lock it into the back of a truck there's no way i'd just drive around with it in there. Theives are everywhere just waiting to steal an honest hardworking persons stuff. They should cut their damn hands off! Insurance is cheap, it wont bring your baby back but it will at least help replace it. Covers crashes too!
  5. Maybe I'm getting to old or something. But I had a 40 series 2 chamber on my 5.7 with some other exhaust mods. Sounded good till the gears went in the rear end. At that point I couldnt even turn the stereo up loud enough to drown out the exhaust. The interior resonance was so bad I was ready to stick myself in the ear with a screwdriver. Maybe on the 5.3 it has a different effect. I ended up with headers with a 3" collector, 3" straight pipe, connecting to a 3" in and 2-2.5" outlets on a Delta flow 50 series. I can actually talk to the person sitting in the cab with me now. Has nice rumble and intimidating lope to it now. If you like loud quality check into Bassani too. Magnaflow would be my next choice after Flowmaster though for a V8.
  6. Ya'll are some funny mugs with too much time on your hands for tormenting people. But here's what we used to do. We picked out this one chick that used to hang out up town with us and deciding to see just how dumb she really was. So she pulls up in the parking lot one day and we're all like let the games begin. So right off the bat my buddy says what the hells that noise under the hood. She says what noise? He says raise the hood and I'll check it out for you. Says right here's your problem tells her the electronic perculator on the TBI is not working. Then he pulls the blinker fluid trick, tells her she better get it checked out cause if the cops see her leaking all over the road its a hazard and she'll get a ticket. So she goes home and asks her dad and he calls her an idiot! Plus while she's pulling out of the parking lot we yell at her and she brakes reall quick we tell her she better get the air rotated in her tires too while she's at it. Same friend has an MR2 which I think everyone but the same girl we pranked on knows its a rear engine car. So she comes back on night 2 tells us her dad called her a dumbass basically. Well my buddy gets ready to leave and she asks where he's going, so he says I need to get home to charge the battery in the car because it's running low and its an electric car. She was like whatever, raise the hood I don't believe you. So he raises the hood and of course all there is is a battery and I think the wiper motor. So she was like oh my god it is an electric car how cool! And on a note of stupid customers here's a few for ya'll to laugh at. Customer calls one day and says I keep getting this screen up that says "push any key". I've looked all over the keyboard and I can'f find any key anywhere. I used to work at Yamaha Dealer and on a daily basis I'd get calls something like this. I need one of those things that bolt on by the foot peg on the motor. So I ask what it is and what yr it is. Their response well it has a yellow gas tank on it and its real old. I was like WTF!
  7. Depends on what your riding style is going to be and what type of terrain you are going to ride mostly? You just cant beat the rush of the banshee in the sand. That is the one place I do miss not having the banshee anymore, but we only go once or twice a year. The banshee seems at home going in a straight line, on smooth terrain, with the throttle wide open. I mostly race XC and trail ride with friends. And for that type of riding the 450 has been hands down a better suited bike for those conditions. It's still more than capable at the dunes with keeping up, and the torque of the 450 easily makes itself noticed there. I never thought I'd sell the banshee and go 4 stroke. Two races on the banshee was enough to convince that it was not meant to XC. The suspension and handling are so much better on the 450 and your body can tell the difference at the end of the day for sure! Minimal performance mods on the 450 make it quite capable drag racing also, its biggest advantage seems to be in the hook up department. It hooks and goes while many banshees have the wild tire spin(but thats part of the banshee charm). All in all both quads are great when in their element. The banshee suited my needs at one time, but over time those needs changed direction and now the 450 better suits me personally.
  8. Kinda like people that bitch about earthquakes that live in California. I mean geez dumbass you live on a fault line what do you expect. Or living in tornado alley and bitching when a tornado blows through town. Some people missed the clue bus and got second helpings of stupidity I think sometimes.
  9. Must be something with the forum because I keep getting notifications of replies to topics that i'm not subscribed to or have unsubscribed from. Thought it was kinda weird. I log in into several computers all running spy ware and ad ware programs so I dont think that's it but I guess anything is possbile.
  10. Id like to get a lighter set of tires to go to the MX track with, plus the hard ass dirt out there wears the edges on the Razr2 pretty good. The razr2 is a heavy tire and for the type riding we both do which is XC racing, a 6 ply tire holds up better to the (stumps, thorns, sharp rocks) and such that we ride in regularly. But yea if you dont need that type of tire then put your tires on a diet if need be. Dalegoldston didnt know you were back finally! The yr is going good so far in XC. Dad is 1st in his class with 5 wins out of 6 races. I'm sitting in about 3rd behind by 4 pts after the drops. You should get with Scott and setup some ride time fella!
  11. Irazr's are supposed to wear pretty fast, you might ask sredish he had a set and that's what he had said. My dad has the HD's on his banshee and once moving he likes them. Good bite, crawls over stuff with ease, ride is good. Biggest thing he noticed is that we race XC and he said since we dead engine start the tires are so heavy that its lugs the engine down on the start since you cant be sitting there revving. So he's already talking about selling them and going back to a set of Razr 1 rears or maybe something else. Downfall being the weight of the tire. I have the Razr2 on the front and rear of my 450. Rides good, run over all kinds of stuff and no flats at this point, good bite, AWESOME in the mud, great side bite in ruts, seem to be wearing good but not quickly. Overall good tire, is a bit heavy like the HD but i've had no troubles on the starts firing up and dumping it and off she goes. Good trail tires.
  12. Might try a computer burn from any good dealer. www.fullsizechevy.com has several good companies listed. the 6.0 and 8.1 are notorious for less than spectacular fuel mileage. Both the Duramax and Powerstroke get fairly good. Before my dad got the flip switch programmer for his powerstroke pulling our enclosed with 2 quads and gear, I ran about 80 home and we were still averaging around 14 mpg. No trailer he should be closer to 20 mpg with the computer adjustments. Will know for sure this week its his first full tank since the switch was installed.
  13. Houser +1 steering stem that I bought on ebay used so I dont know that much about it. I have since changed my mind to stick with the stock height due to the fact I can not find bars with the same pull back that I have now. I dont want to have to change cables and such so i'm just going to sell it. Houser +1, anti vibe Laeger brand clamp, Houser red, adjustable steering stop. Splines look perfectly straight. Looking to get $200 obo shipped I paid $215 shipped so i'd like to try and recoup some of my money if possible. Stem has some normal wear and scratches nothing major that I can tell though. Email all inquiries to jgasparas@hotmail.com
  14. I made my own personal sacrifices months ago when fuel started to rise. Long trips out to ride are a thing of the past and maybe for a while. My biggest cutback was just not squandering gas driving around lolly gagging like I used to. Sometimes I like to just cruise around to clear my head, now I bicycle around town or play video games. I dont eat out near as much as I used to. Cutting out that extra tank of fuel, and the eating out saved quit a bit. Probably $60 a week. Although my cut backs may have affects on others, quite frankly I cant consider that when I'm budgeting my paycheck towards bills each month. Unless you're independently wealthy everyone is budgeting and cutting back I imagine. Point being everyones decisions in some minute way have an effect on everyone out there. But 1st and foremost I have to consider myself, my family, and my own priorities 1st! If that means the kid working at McD's gets an hour cut and he can only buy a 12 pk instead of case so be it. Supply and demand has always worked, you keep demanding and the keep supplying you with a higher price. Personally I have cut my demand in half. If it werent 25 miles to work i'd likely bicycle and cut it down another half. If everyone would cut back on their useless driving which a lot of people do. I carpooled out with friends to eat the last weekend and you wouldnt believe all the teeenagers out cruising the drag and racing up and down the road. And i'm with Holy on refinery placement, they had to expect this would eventually happen! Your on the coast for god sakes and below sea level. We looked at some land north of us, nice area to ride and a nice creek. But they told us it was considered a 100 yr flood plane. Well that one in a 100 was not worth loosing a house and unreplaceable memorables over. They are in the process of opening a BioDiesel plant just north of us in Oklahoma and hopefully that will really help the farming community around here. Maybe more stations will start to carry it at the pump when the refinery is up and going.
  15. One of the things that amazed me most through all this is who is the first to give a handout to any whining ass country that wants one. The USA. Where are all those SOB's now that we could use supplies and help for these people. We should stick to our own and let everyone else fend for their damselves! There was an interesting show on the discovery channel last night too about Louisiana. Talking about how what used to be marsh lands is now quickly turning to complete wet lands. Thousands of acres are disppearing rapidly, they showed overhead pics where it looked like the area had shrunk by a 1/4 in size in the last 50 yrs alone. Hope they come back with a better engineering design for the levee's too. Them breaking only doubled the problem they are having.
  16. Man last time I drove by Rocky Ridge the place looked like a ghost town of a riding area. Other than playing around on those couple of meager hill climbs there that place is worthless. Mud Creek had a good uphill at one of the races I went to there. Grassy dirt hills in the east and rocky dusty hills in the west. Havent seen any that'll make ya weak in the knees to climb though. Not like in some of the Huevos videos they are climbing. Might head to the dunes sometime and climb some there!
  17. State Farm asked me how much I wanted the quads insured for. I told them $5K on the banshee and its about $9.50 per month. Fire, theft, collision, and I think a $250 ded. on collison, and $50 on fire and theft. The 450 costs a little more but I insured it for more.
  18. Well Travis I doubt you live as close as Scott does! How's the Cheetah Banshee going? I think you're following me. Take care, buy the amp link Travis.
  19. Well you could maybe even talk me into delivering to your door if you want. $40 and it belongs to a new owner!
  20. So far every message on the Waynoka forum board says 2 weeks after Labor Day. Maybe they are figuring a lot of peeps on labor Day, then break a weekend and hope to draw a big crowd again later. Unless the date changes between now and then and I guess it could.
  21. Banshee of any year will fit. One good roller one bad roller. They were both brand new and then wadded up a chain and broke the case, in the process ruining one roller. Make offer not cutting up the stator cover to fit it which also got mangled in the chain derailment. email offers to jgasparas@hotmail.com since I dont check here that often you will get a quicker response by that email address.
  22. That weekend isnt Sandfest, Sandfest is the weekend of the 17th. We kinda figured with this being the weekend between Labor Day and Sandfest it would provide for more of the dunes to ourselves maybe. Cant go Sept 30 cause I have a XC race that weekend. Will probably be going again in mid october though. Might have a few new folks on this trip and this way we dont have to watch for sooooo many drunk idiots.
  23. Now thats just discrimination man! No women, what if the women dont know you?
