Z28ROC Posted July 1, 2005 Report Posted July 1, 2005 I live in Reno, and I've wondered that too. I drove through Winemucca last weekend, and didn't see any indication of sand dunes. But I've heard that there are some around there. Let us know how they are, if you go out there. Quote
Animalman294 Posted July 6, 2005 Report Posted July 6, 2005 I ride sand mountain and it takes about four and a half hours for me to get there from Cali. Hey look at it this way take a suitcase of beer and try it out. Crap riding is better than no riding at all, and after that you will know. I also have an idea try calling a local cycle shop there and ask them if there are any dunes worth a two hour trip....... Good luck man Quote

The dunes are located North of town heading to Oregon. From what you can see it is pretty small and flat riding area. Quote
lvracer36 Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 check out duneguide.com http://www.duneguide.com/sand_dune_guide_w...mucca_dunes.htm Quote
fast500#12 Posted July 19, 2005 Author Report Posted July 19, 2005 i went to duneguide.com and it said that its about a forty square miles of riding area but the are no peaks that reach over 100 ft high. so i don't know i think that i'll check it out some day. Quote
Travis's Banshee Posted August 16, 2005 Report Posted August 16, 2005 AAAHHH, you guys are all spoiled. Compared to sand mountain, glamis, buttercup and dumont. It looks real small. But compared to Little Sahara it looks pretty good. If I still lived in Norcal, I'd definately check it out. Quote
MonkeyBoy Posted August 20, 2005 Report Posted August 20, 2005 I travel to Winnemucca for work every so often. Those people never told me there was dunes out there... How would a 4x4 rental do out there? Quote
23champ Posted September 4, 2005 Report Posted September 4, 2005 I've never heard of it before. I agree with travis, anything would prolly be bigger and better than LS Quote
andiefrogger Posted January 11, 2006 Report Posted January 11, 2006 (edited) i rode it i lived about 2 hours north of it ..... its tight but when your on the road you only see a little area . go over the big sand hill in the back and its miles of dune lots of bowls and and jump and razer backs like crazy .... fun ...... its better then sand mountain ,,,, there way more riding ..... but there no bigass hill to race up ...... but the best thing is there never anyone out there i rode there for about 3 years when i could and seen like maybe 20 people ./... so ya its worth checkin out i think Edited January 11, 2006 by andiefrogger Quote
