2001JLShee Posted October 10, 2006 Report Posted October 10, 2006 I run BelRay MC1 50:1 and my Banshee runs like a champ, smells good works good I think it comes in .375 liter bottles that you mix 1 bottle to 5 gallons of gas. Works good like all BelRay stuff  Quote
BansheeDan Posted October 10, 2006 Report Posted October 10, 2006 i run cam 2 110 race gas and klotz super techiplate at 32:1 .....i have a 01 shee and just pulled the head off the motor last week for the first time ever    Quote
Dark Ranger Posted October 12, 2006 Report Posted October 12, 2006 I have been running Ams Oil Saber at 80:1 for a year with no problems. Less oil in the gas means more bang for the buck! Quote
atvaddiction Posted October 12, 2006 Report Posted October 12, 2006 I Run Klotz Techniplate at 40:1 love the smell, and seems to do an awesome job! I run Klotz Benol at 32:1 with reg unleaded. It runs great and smells good. It burns through real well without leaveing a bunch of crap in my motor to bogg me down. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted October 12, 2006 Report Posted October 12, 2006 (edited) I have been running Ams Oil Saber at 80:1 for a year with no problems. Less oil in the gas means more bang for the buck! it also means your getting less lubrication and less motor life as well .... 80:1 is unrealistic... 40:1 is boarder line cutting it your turning too many rpms to try and cut out the oil , you simpily wont get enough lubrication and will stick your motor Edited October 12, 2006 by Bansh-eman Quote
Washburn Posted October 12, 2006 Report Posted October 12, 2006 Yamalube 32:1 1 16oz bottle to 4 gallons of 93 octane. I dont think its worth it to run anything lessif you want more power switch out your domes advance your timing get a more aggressive port job its just not worth it to run less. Your just ASKING for problems if you do. Quote
Dark Ranger Posted October 12, 2006 Report Posted October 12, 2006 it also means your getting less lubrication and less motor life as well .... 80:1 is unrealistic... 40:1 is boarder line cutting it your turning too many rpms to try and cut out the oil , you simpily wont get enough lubrication and will stick your motor That is not necessarily true. With a lesser oil that could be the case, but running a fully synthetic oil formulated to run at 100:1 at 80:1 should be no problem whatsoever. The lubricating properties of synthetic oils like Saber give you better lubrication and better motor life with less oil. Besides, like I said before, I have been running it at this ratio for a year plus now and I have had no problems. Quote
RNBRAD Posted October 12, 2006 Report Posted October 12, 2006 Yep, some oils will lubricate better at 80:1 than others can at any ratio. Quote
Dark Ranger Posted October 12, 2006 Report Posted October 12, 2006 Yep, some oils will lubricate better at 80:1 than others can at any ratio. That's right. Thanks for backing me up on this. All oils are not created equal. Quote
band-one Posted November 20, 2006 Report Posted November 20, 2006 First...don't shoot this newbie for asking this...I've read the thread and others concerning fuel/oil mix.... Does Yamaha spec 24:1 in the manual (using Yamalube 2R) for engine longevity (enhanced lubrication)? And do those of you using 2R run 32:1 for more power/cooling/etc? Just bought a 2002 banshee (all stock, hardly ridden...was bought new from a dealer in 2004 by the previous owner). Mixed my fuel at 24:1..stock jetting...it was about 45 degrees F Saturday on my first ride. Little flat off idle but ran fine at all other times and throttle positions. Not much smoke and the plugs looked perfect. Thanks for the help... Quote
tyguy Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 i run klots 40:1, race gas (110) and love it, runs like a rapped ape............. also tried blue marble at 32:1 and it was fine, which i was told tonight that blue marble is a 50:1... :shoothead: Quote
BANSHEEMANIAC Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 I run Klotz Benol at 32:1 with reg unleaded. It runs great and smells good.
