  1. Hey Guys, I came across a serious problem with my Banshee after having to replace a broken reed. I still have the TORS system installed on my carbs, which I know is a mistake to still have them, but I've been having problems with the left carb cap not staying tight, well I noticed the threads on the carb are all but worn off, evidently the TORS system on the left side has been moving around and caused the cap to keep coming off, now I have a carb that has zero threads left on it and a broken quad. I was wondering if anyone out there has a left stock carb laying around that they wouldn't mind selling or is there another way that I might be able to fix the carb? I tried using thread tape on it and that held up for all of 5 minutes and then it broke again, I got really desperate and zip tied the cap to the carb just so I could ride it since it's been sitting around since December. I'd like to just replace the carb and be done with it so message me if any one has a carb they wouldn't selling off. I've got an 2001 so I don't know how much the carbs have changed over the years.
  2. Hey Guys, So I was home from college for Christmas Break in SW Iowa, I decided to get my Banshee out and ride around for awhile in the snow just because it had been sitting in the shed for awhile. I rode it down to my garage to air up the tires and as I was riding it, it made an extremely loud crack/backfire sound and now it is only running on the right cylinder. I swapped out the plugs for new ones. Whenever I try starting it, I kick it for at least 40-50 tries and it will finally start and the right side cylinder idles just fine but nothing from the left side unless I have the choke out on full and basically have the throttle pinned wide open. I think I may have lost a reed but I wanted to consult the experts first before I go tearing into the unknown. After I get her fixed it will most likely be for sale if anyone is interested!
  3. I saw it, I remember the Honda triple cylinder they had on there last year....Remember what month the magazine is
  4. Does anybody have some stock uncut white plastics they want to get rid of? I'm tired of the blue custom stress marks on mine
  5. Yeah, I agree, definitely give your pipe hangers a look. I don't think your motor would be shifting around without causing alot of other problems, if it moved your chain and sprockets would let you know because if they're not lined up you surely wouldn't be riding for very long....
  6. I was sittin at home, snowed in this weekend, I've got a pair of stock silencers just loungin around gathering rust, does anybody know if they'll fit on FMF Fattys??
  7. I've got PowerCore 2's on my FMF Fattys right now, but about 22 of us are goin on a ride up in South Dakota in July and spark arrestors are required, I was thinking about just buying TurbineCore silencers and just running those and getting rid of my PowerCores, is there a big difference as far as performance restriction between the two different types of silencers? I searched and searched and couldn't find any good info, figured I'd ask the experts. Thanks for your help
  8. You're awfully quick to talk shit and criticize. This guy is obviously doing what every one is out to do, expand the sport and take it to the next level, real cool to criticize his work, ass. Let us know about your "8 hour race"
  9. Bel-Ray Case Saver works fantastic, 80W in the winter....85 in the summer. Amazing stuff
  10. I've got FMF Fattys...and I absolutely love them, I've got stock porting tho. FMFs will give you a lil extra cash you can spend on somethin else for your bike
  11. I don't think 8 is the right amount....depending whether you're replacing all bushings in upper and lower a-arms. There's 2 in each upper and I think there's 4 for the lowers, I'm not sure since I have yet to replace mine.
  12. Thanks guys, I'm gettin the disease, the only thing savin me from spendin everything I have is college.
  13. Hey Guys, A while back I had to put a new clutch cable on my Shee because I snapped the cable practicing horseshoe drag runs. My brother picked up a cable from a dealer in Omaha that told him it was universal for yamaha or somethin retarded like that, it actually was long enough but now that I have the cable on my lever has a lot more in and out slop and the clutch feels weak, where do I adjust the cable because when I look at the clutch arm it gets pulled in far enough when I pull on the lever but when I release my lever the arm doesn't quite come back all the way, does the spring on the arm get weak and could be causing the clutch arm to not return all the way? Need some help, going home this weekend to ride my Shee for the 1st time in at least 2 months
  14. Mine only spits out antifreeze if I actually fill up the reservoir. I even put a new radiator put in and it still spit some out if I added any antifreeze. If your radiator is full you don't need any antifreeze in the reservoir.
  15. My mechanic did tell me that BR9ES plugs aren't supposed to be as hot of a plug. I put the 9's in probably about 5 or 6 months ago and have had absolutely no problems. My Shee is jetted a bit lean but it runs extremely strong.
  16. Hey guys, I run NGK BR9ES plugs in my shee with FMF Fattys, Wiseco Prolites, Boyesen Power Reeds on stock cage and the single K & N. What do ya think the best spark plugs are. I used to run BR8ES but my mechanic said to bump up to 9's. What's your 2 cents?
  17. Wiseco Prolites are the best pistons out there. I've had mine in for almost a year, no problems. I do all trail riding with the exception of flat out haulin' ass down highways just to get her opened up. A buddy of mine has had pro lites in his banshee...bored .60 over for goin on 3 years now and they work great. Not sure on a shop in Jersey since I live in Iowa....sorry
  18. I use BelRay Case Saver 85W during the summer and 80W during the winter...I've heard nothing but bad things about that Lucas Tranny Stabilizer, it's really sticky and all transmissions need a good flow of fluid.
  19. I live in southwest Iowa and the elevation is like 1000 to 1200 feet above sea level, I have the top of my airbox lid cut open. What jets should I be running for that elevation, I've never jetted carbs before so I'm kinda nervous about doing it....any walkthru's on here?
  20. I'm trying to gain a little more power without having to dip into my wallet too far. I ride pretty much all trails, with the occasional drag against some yfz 450s and raptors, they always pull away off the start but I blow past them once I hit 5th and 6th gear
  21. Hey Guys, I was wondering what kind of horsepower #'s y'all think I could be getting out of my Banshee...here's what I've got done to it so far.....Wiseco Pro-Lites (std.) FMF Gold Series Fatty's, Boyesen power reeds, it's got the single big ass K & N filter, I'm not sure what jets are in it as I've never done jetting myself, one of my friends did it for me and I know he said he had to put 220s in it to work with our elevation. Also, if I were to have my head milled, it's stock, how much should I have it milled down and what difference will a lightened flywheel give me? Can stock stator plates be advanced?
  22. I run BelRay MC1 50:1 and my Banshee runs like a champ, smells good works good I think it comes in .375 liter bottles that you mix 1 bottle to 5 gallons of gas. Works good like all BelRay stuff
  23. Is there a bearing that goes inside the hub that might be worn out tho? I'm at school for about 3 more weeks before I can get home and take a look. Thanks for the help!
  24. I noticed just the other day after swapping my Sand Gecko's back over to my Klaw XCR's that my rear sprocket and hub have a little bit of play in them. I checked the axle lock nut which is still stock and it fixed the wobble for awhile and now the hub is loose again. Is there a bearing or spacer that needs to be replaced? If so where could I get replacement parts for cheap?
