rideblue_05 Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 I am planning on buying an armadillo super lite bumper from Rocky Mountain. Its the one with the 3 bars running horizontally in front for $114. Does anybody on here have a bumper like that on their bike. Post a pic so I can see what it looks like and decide if I want to order it. Quote

My local dealer here in Scotland sells them and I take it off the wall every time I'm in his shop. Can't believe how light it is .... about 2 lbs I think. He's got one fitted on his YFZ450 for MX, but he covers it with his race numbers! Only thing is, he wants Quote
trail rider Posted March 23, 2005 Report Posted March 23, 2005 (edited) i made my own bumper it looks killer , and i'd post a pic but i cant get it to work right. lol who cares if its only 10 pds...thats like nothing.. my bumper is made of 1/4 square tubing. the frame would break before the bumper would bend lol Edited March 23, 2005 by trail rider Quote
MILO Posted March 23, 2005 Report Posted March 23, 2005 yeah i wish they would show their products on the quads so you can see what they actually would look like. i thought the xc (3 bar) would look better on the craptor than a shee, and i was leaning toward the xcl. i'm undecided also till i see one on a shee. MILO Posted March 24, 2005 Report Posted March 24, 2005 (edited) is it just the view, or does that thing seem to hang pretty low? i think i'm liking the xcl more and more, after some of these pics. still would like to see it on one though. i haven't found any pics of that one yet. chapmanmd Posted April 28, 2005 Report Posted April 28, 2005 What do y'all think about the BlingStar iron cross bumpers? Quote
locogato11283 Posted April 28, 2005 Report Posted April 28, 2005 i would never pay more than about 60 or 70 bucks for a bumper especially if i was gonna trail ride. its bound to get fucked up. i paid like 65 bucks a piece for my ac ones and thats still a little steep. Quote
Banshee17Racing Posted May 1, 2005 Report Posted May 1, 2005 I've had the Armadillo Custom Lite bumper for about 2 years now. To be honest...I shouldn't have bought it. I'm not sure how much they are now. but it was $115.00 then. Let's just say there's not too much of a "bumper" with whole 2 lbs of aluminum. I haven't actually ran into anything with it...but you couldn't tell by looking at it. I've got a dent the size of a quarter on the bottom bar that I have no idea what from? And I came up short on a double-double and smashed the botttom bar into the frame. I loved the bumper when I first got it...but I don't recommend it for trails or MX. It would definately be a nice sand bumper, but I'd somehow look for a chrome one ..these things are hard as hell to keep polished. My next bumper will be the Tag bumper w/the mudscreen for sure.
