After weeks of looking for a good deal, I finally was able to get my very first banshee. I've had some pretty hot 4wheelers before, but this thing is a madman! I NOW see what the hype it. Anyway....

As I was checking it out yesterday afternoon, a guy at the end of my street wanted to line them up. He has a 'zuki z400, with a pipe and probibly some other mods. I was hesitant because I haven't spent much time on the bike and really needing to work on my take-offs and keeping her in the powerband - BUT did it anyway. The guys friend was talking shit like"...he's gonna send ya home cryin'...OH, HERE COMES THE BEAST!...he's gonna getcha..." etc, etc...

He was able to keep up thru second, but me and the 'shee kept pulling away. After spankin' he's ass a couple of times he, and his friend with green teeth, accepted defeat.

Just wanted to share my experiance with my newest toy. :D

My friend has a z400 bored to a 440 with a cam, ported head,K&N, bigger jets in, oversized radiator and a yoshimura full exhaust system and he kept up pretty good until I hit the sixth gear  Nothing better than that though. :headbang:

Thanx for the welcome.

His bike has a yoshimura pipe and a K&N I know of, mine's a bone stock black/red 03 model ( well the first owner put a kill-cord on it ). I've been lookin on here for what my first hop-up should be and I'm strongly thinking 'bout the lightened flywheel.

Oh does the exhaust have removable baffles, or should I just save up and get a new set of pipes.

Do the fly, shave your head .030(around $45), order a +4 degree timing key($20), and some bigger main jets at the same time ($2 each). You won't have more than $150 in it, and it will make a huge difference. And the best part is that when you talk shit to the Z400, you can still say your Shee is stock, he won't be able to tell the difference.....until you really smoke his ass :headbang:

I did my mods one at a time...Not that many really, but one at a time. I would say that the pipes & proper jetting is what woke my Banshee up the most. I went with the FMF Fatty Pipes and really liked how the power came on so much earlier. It turned it into a whole other bike at that point...

I would say do pipes & jets first...

Definitly pipes. I'd look for one of those kits where ya get the pipe silencers and like a K&N filter kit with jets. Might be a bit more money , but if you buy all of those things seperate it will cost you more than the kit.
