  1. I ported my cases myself. All you have to do is set the cylinder base gasket down on top of the case and trace out the inside lines of the gasket onto the top of the case. Thern shave out the metal. I used my trusted Dremel tool and a cutting bit used to deburr metal. It worked well and fast too. I probably didn't explain it as well as I should have. It is simple if you have some patience and a good set of bits for your dremel. The cases have to be separated or you'll get tons of metal in the lower end of the motor.
  2. I will be picking my Banshee up from the impound today !!!! The two guys who stole it were seen trying to hide it in the woods about 3 towns away from me. They tried to take my whole trailer and everything ! They are in the county prison right now awaiting questioning. The one guy had 2000 dollars on him . The state police man told me he doesn't know if someone paid him for the bike or if it was drug money. All I know is I hope they sit in jail for awhile so they have some time to think about what they did. 18 and 19 year old kids from Plains PA. Dont use Krypton cable locks cuz they cut right through 2 of mine with no proiblems. and....Yes I like the pink. The pics don't do it justice. If you saw it in person it looks really trick. Plus my wife likes it too. Thanks for all the comments hope this doesn't happen to any of you guys ! Later... Dan

  8. Oh ,you will super chicken. It was nice to meet you and I hope to keep in touch. I think I found out what the problem is. When I took the motor apart before this trip and put on the newly ported cylinders and powder coated the cases I noticed that the half moon shaped bracket with 2 screws in it that holds the shift drum in place was loose. This allowed my drum to move back and forth. I am willing to bet there is some gawling of some sort or something on the forks or the drum. I just ordered all new stuff and am waiting to remove the motor and install. I ordered a performance shift drum from Alba. It is made by Yakkey Performance. Supposed to make a "HUGE" difference in the shifting. I guess we'll see. I'll have her up and running in no time ! Damn I love tearing apart motors !!!
  9. I've been playing guitar for about 16 years. Off and on that is. For about 3 years I was in a blues band then went on to form my own band playing covers of 80's and 90's rock and alternative bands. We played all of the local bars and clubs and had a blast. I am trying to get back into it with one of the guys that was in the rock band with me. He plays guitar as well and will be doing back up vocals for me . I would start with an electric unless you plan on playing acoustic type stuff. It all depends on what kind of music you are into I guess. I've been all metal and rock . I'm starting to calm down though in my old age. I would have to agree about the fender. I started with a squire as well. You can get them now cheap. Try looking for a pawn shop in your area. They always have stuff like that. I now play an Ibanez gs 470 also a Jackson kelly standard. Looks live Dave Mustaines axe. Plus I also bought an old Fender squire just to have a guitar to tune down andd not be worried about messing up my good shit. Good luck, just get dedicated and have fun with it.
  10. I'd take those MOFO's and chop em off. That was the first thing I did when I got my shee. Couple bucks for the kit to remove them.As for the dealer , find out where he lives and lite up some bags of dog shit on his porch, knock, and run like hell!!! Might not fix the bike, but it may make you feel better watching him stomp out the dog shit ! Really though , the less connections in the electrical, the better. That really narrows down problems like this. It could just be some dirt in the carbs or a little sludge from running an oil rich mix. Pull them off and clean them out. It's worth a try.
  11. Maybe I didn't hit it hard enough. I don't know. But after I hit it it kind of jammed up. While I was still at the race track I put it up on a jack and spun the rear while going through the gears with the motor off. It went through all the gears until it came to 4th. It went into neutral again. Not just once but about 4 times. Also happened at my house. About 4 or 5 times. I 'll probably just replace all the stuff and be done with it. I hate when things happen like this !!! Oh well. shit happens. Thanks anyway guys.
  12. I was drag racing this weekend for fun and as I went from 3rd to 4th I hit a second neutral. I took the case cover off last night hoping it was an external shift problem but can't see anything wrong with it. It will go into all the gears eventually. What could be the problem ? all of the shift forks , shafts , and shift drum are fairly new. Maybe only 30 hours on them. What coiuld be the problem? Thanks for the help in advance.
  13. You might have the screw in the center of your clutch pack out of adjustment after putting in new plates. Also check the screw that that adjusts your detent spring. Mine came lose on me before and I couldn't shift out of second at all. That's the screw with the 17 mm locking type nut on it. I'm having trouble myself with my trans . Maybe your better off taking advice from someone else. Ha, ha. Good luck bro.
  14. Cool, looks like I am going to give them a call. Any body else want to put thier 2 cents in ? It will be appreciated.
  15. I checked out quick sand racing and found they have a-arms for about 625 chromed. Does anyone have them? If so, good or bad ? Are they any good or should I not waste my money? Thanks for the help... Later......
  16. Looking to up grade my ignition to add to my rebuild. Does anyone know of a better price on a Dyna ignition than 279.00 ? If so, please give up the info. !
  17. I don't know man, The wings look like they might collect alot of nice dirt and mud, but that's about it. I'm more into clean lines and things like that. I like parts to flow together. They would look like a size 12 shoe on a size 6 foot to me. If ya know what I mean.
  18. I just use a bench top grinder. I have a Craftsman with one type of wheel on one side and little stiffer wheel on the other side. They also sell the rouge in a 4 pack. I'm sure you can find better stuff than that though. I think it is a good investment if you want your stuff to look good all the time. having someone do the initial polishing would be a good idea though because it is time consuming and tedious. BBlue, coming out nice , what type of wheel and rouge are you using on those? I had mine polished by Trinity when I got my port job done.
  19. Never mind, just set the base gasket on the top crank case and you can plainly see what has to be removed. Usually soon as I post a question I end up figuring it out. Oh well. Thanks anyway.
  20. I just got my cylinders back from Trinity. They say you should port match the case as well. My question is what to match? I have the whole motor apart and am looking at it but really don't understand where to cut. Can anyone give me some pointers? I like to do what I can myself. Thanks for the help. I can provide some pics if it would help.
  21. Well, to clear things up a bit, it would be a third job. I'd like to start off small and then expand. That's why I say quad parts and not all parts. I would probably just use internet orders and post some things at the l;ocal stores in my area just to get started. The reason I would use Eastwood's powder is because they are in my state. I order colors from them and they arrive the next day at my door. They are about 90 minutes from my house.I did notice that the translucent colors are a bit harder to get a good finish with, specially on thin metal like frame guards. I can get more than 30 colors, but that's what I have here already. I would probably go elswhere for my translucent colors. The other colors I have found to give a really nice finish. If I get enough business I will open a small shop that would also sell aftermarket parts, and used parts.
  22. Man , I can't imagine being over there. Not knowing if today is your last or not. I'd go nuts without my freedom. I guess I'm too used to being able to do what I want , when I want. I couldn't dream of being away from my wife and daughter and all my "guy stuff". Hell I miss them when I go to work and it's only for 8 hours. Gotta give it up to these guys and the families left at home. Peace and safety to you all. Rattlehead....
  23. I've been thinking about starting a powder coating business to do quad parts. Do you guys think it would be a money maker or not. I've got all of the equiptment and a place to do it. I've already done my Banshee crank cases and a number of other parts with great success. I would also be polishing parts such as thumb throttle tops and frame guards etc. I have the means to acquire about 30 different colors. I would also be able to sand blast items up to a certain size, for now. I live in PA. If things work out, I'll also be able to get used parts for resale. I am working on that now with a local used parts dealer. What do you guys think? Go for it or not ?
  24. Definitly pipes. I'd look for one of those kits where ya get the pipe silencers and like a K&N filter kit with jets. Might be a bit more money , but if you buy all of those things seperate it will cost you more than the kit.
  25. Ya , I know, but it is easier for me to adjust. My wife and I go out of state alot to ride and it seems easier to get it running correctly for the diff. altitudes and temps. Maybe I'll go back to 2 carbs. Probably get another 35 mm to match. I will see when my jugs come back in.
