Does anyone know how to get the video off of my camera on to the computer. Not a digital camera an handheld camcorder. Is there some special hook up you have to buy. Do you need any software? Got some good banshee footage that i would like to put up. Thanks in advanced.

What you need is a video capture card. Here is a link to a site that has different prices on this card.It plugs into you motherboard and comes with software and editing(not very good editing program thou). The one I have is the one with v-stream on the side in the pictures.

you get what you pay for as well...spend 30 bucks, and i know your video will not look very good. expect to pay $100 or so for a decent external capture device at best buy that will capture at 720X480

I can capture that same resolution with my $30 card so piss on you! My card will capture whatever resolution you feed into it. So no, its not the price of the card that determines anything, its the quality of the device you use to do the filming in the first place. :P

firewire is tight. you cant even believe the quality difference from usb. i had an AV class in high school that used adobe 5.0. sweet program and you could do all kinds of shit with it. it was kind of tempermental tho. one wrong thing and youd end up shuttin down the computer and restarting. still made some tight videos on it tho..

Use the Firewire for uploading video. you will need to be in the VCR mode, and also have a video capture program. if you have win XP it has Windows MovieMaker built in. you may have to download it, but its free and will allow you to do most of the common editing tricks! have fun!

As I stated above... the quality is only as good as the device you use to record the video in the first place. So yes, your video will no doubt be better than mine, because I use an old Sony video camera to film my stuff. I do not doubt the quality of your stuff, I was talking about the card / method you use for transferring that video to the computer. And I already have some of my videos posted...
