03350banshee Posted March 4, 2005 Report Posted March 4, 2005 Does anyone know how to get the video off of my camera on to the computer. Not a digital camera an handheld camcorder. Is there some special hook up you have to buy. Do you need any software? Got some good banshee footage that i would like to put up. Thanks in advanced. Quote
Banshee~ Posted March 4, 2005 Report Posted March 4, 2005 What you need is a video capture card. Here is a link to a site that has different prices on this card.It plugs into you motherboard and comes with software and editing(not very good editing program thou). The one I have is the one with v-stream on the side in the pictures. Quote
quad4me Posted March 4, 2005 Report Posted March 4, 2005 go to best buy or something..just ask them...they will hook you up! Quote
BigRed350x Posted March 5, 2005 Report Posted March 5, 2005 There is an Austrailian company called Hauppauge that makes some nice video capture cards. Cheap too. Go to... Http://www.mwave.com and pick one up for like $30 Quote
locogato11283 Posted March 5, 2005 Report Posted March 5, 2005 i got a capture card with a fire wire transfer system. works better than av cables or usb. makes the picture a lot more clear. Quote
CombatTalon2 Posted March 5, 2005 Report Posted March 5, 2005 you get what you pay for as well...spend 30 bucks, and i know your video will not look very good. expect to pay $100 or so for a decent external capture device at best buy that will capture at 720X480 Quote

My card will capture whatever resolution you feed into it. So no, its not the price of the card that determines anything, its the quality of the device you use to do the filming in the first place. So yes, your video will no doubt be better than mine, because I use an old Sony video camera to film my stuff. I do not doubt the quality of your stuff, I was talking about the card / method you use for transferring that video to the computer. And I already have some of my videos posted... Quote
