I run 90 % woods 10% drags with friends.  What would lightening the flywheel do for me?  Ive heard it could take away from low speed manuveres due to more engine stall (less mass to keep engine spinning). :yank:

I've never heard of stalling being a problem at all for a banshee. The mod is just really awesome and I would recommend it for anyone in any circumstance. It just flat out performs in every scenario you can place it in. Boonman and BdBanshee both lighten flywheels on this site. Both real good people to deal with.

I am in the same boat, this is kind of a re-post for me I started it in rides of shame after getting slammed by a YFZ450.

If I lighten the flywheel and advance the timing, will I need to bump up to race gas with the mods that I have now? (see sig). Thanks guys.

With the mods you have in your sig, I would not think you need race gas. It depends on your compression. I have my flywheel lightend & the timing advanced. Running a Noss head with 19cc domes & 160 lbs. I don't run race gas, have ran this for two years & no problems.

Stalling is not a problem with banshees with lightened flywheel applications. Since it is a twin cyl, if im not mistaken, it fires every 180 degrees. Single cyl engines are the only engines that have that problem. Anyhow, do it, its one of the cheap mods that actually makes a difference.

Yeah I feel the same way. I hear nuttin but good things in here but am sure the majority of you guys run in the sand. I do remember reading that this is not ideal for woods riding because of what Yamaholic wrote but hey what do I know, am just an "rookie" :yank: I would like to hear from any fellas .... :o hmmm or ladies ;) that ride trails and have gotten the flywheel mod

i ride around my yard alot,as well as woods and asphalt play drag racing, and a lightened wheel is such a GREAT IMPROVEMNT it doesnt matterif you have a long rod stroker on alcohol or a bone stock she ,its a great mod no matter what kinda riding, dont listen to all that b.s about how youll lose torque or itll stall, mines lighter than most any flywheel ive seen moded and i dont have thse problems,it makesyour throttle feel like your running EFI and powerband is instantaneous, trust me you want it!

I ride the woods, and in the dunes. I love the lightened flywheel. Wouldn't be without it. Lets the engine rev quicker. And because the banshee is a 2 stroke twin, you aren't going to have low end problems or stalling issues. You will be a hapy camper every time you ride the bike. It doesn't give you any more power, persay, but what it does do for you is give your right hand easier access to the available power.
